The Little Engine is on the move and our community is making it happen!

We have raised $14,060 toward our $50,000 goal and we are 28% of the way there. Every dollar brings us one step closer to opening our doors to families in Ramsey County on August 7th.

Before we closed, we turned away 103 families over 9 months of operation simply because we did not have enough space. We will continue to show up and grow to meet this need together!

We’re pleased to welcome Malissa Stanton Adams to STAR House as our new Assistant Executive Director.

Malissa brings over a decade of leadership in human services and equity-centered practice, along with deep experience supporting families through housing instability and crisis with dignity and care. She has also spent 15 years as an equity consultant, helping organizations strengthen culturally responsive and trauma-informed practice.

At STAR House, she will support our reopening, daily operations, staff and volunteer coordination, and our work providing trauma-informed care for children and families during times of crisis.

We are incredibly grateful to an anonymous donor who contributed $10,000 to STAR House's I Think I Can Campaign after hearing our Board President, Chris Aerts, share our story on WCCO Radio.

This gift is a vote of confidence in the children and families who visit, in our volunteers and supporters, and in the future of STAR House.

As we prepare our new location and work toward welcoming families again, moments like this remind us that our community believes in what we're building. Every contribution, every encouraging word, and every act of support helps move us one step closer to opening our doors.
