Thanks to Ivy House New Ulm, MN's Crisis Nursery Legislation has passed!
Today, we celebrate!
Minnesota’s Crisis Nursery legislation has officially passed both the House and Senate. We are now only awaiting Governor Walz’s signature.
This is a major step forward for Ivy House, for communities across Minnesota, and for the future of crisis nurseries throughout Greater Minnesota. This legislation will help create a licensing framework designed specifically for crisis nurseries and help open the door for more communities to provide this kind of support and care for children and families.
Thank you to everyone who prayed, advocated, testified, wrote letters, made phone calls, shared our story, and stood beside us throughout this journey.
We are incredibly grateful for the bipartisan support from legislators across Minnesota and look forward to continuing to work with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families as this framework is developed for rollout in 2028.
Today is a good day for children and families.
