🐾Hi, friends! We’d like to reintroduce you to Belle! This sweet girl is truly the best. She’s affectionate, loyal, fun, and has the calmest personality ever. Sadly, she’s been overlooked time and time again. At each event, she sits patiently, wondering if she’ll finally find her forever home.

Belle has enjoyed spending time with the boys and the other dog in her foster family. She’s fully vetted, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Now it’s time for her to go home! Belle loves relaxing beside you, going for walks, and making sure you know that YOU are her person.

Today, sweet Angel went to her forever home, and I don’t think I’ll ever forget this adoption.

Her new mom is an incredible woman of resilience and strength. Her family lives in Winder, and she had mentioned to me that she was a teacher. But until today, it didn't register that she is a teacher at Apalachee High School—the school where the tragic shooting happened in 2024.

When we met today, she looked at me and said, “I needed this dog. Thank you.” Then with tears in both of our eyes, I handed her Angel’s leash and drove away.

This work is hard. It’s a mission that can rip at your heart and leave you imagining things you wish you never had to think about—the fear, neglect, abuse, confusion, and loss some of these animals have endured. But then there are days like today. Days when all of that heartbreak meets something beautiful, and you get to witness an animal who desperately needed someone become exactly what someone else needed, too. That’s when you’re reminded why you keep going.

I personally want to thank every single person who follows us, shares a post, leaves a comment, fosters, volunteers, donates, encourages us, and especially those of you who pray for us and for these animals. Every bit of it matters as we continue trying to rescue these precious lives and provide the very best care we can—not only for the animals, but for the families whose lives they become part of.

Tonight, I’m simply in awe of Angel’s new mom and her strength. I’m grateful that Angel gets to begin the life she deserves, and I’m humbled by the way God can bring two lives together at exactly the right moment.

Sometimes we think we’re rescuing an animal. And then God reminds us that His plans can be so much bigger than that. I am so humbled.

Happy forever, sweet Angel. You’re home. ❤️

The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline, not a deadline. Every dog is different, and every story is different.

Many dogs coming out of shelters have never experienced life in a real home. Some were born into the shelter system. Some have never lived with children, met a cat, walked on a leash, ridden in a car, or even known what it feels like to sleep safely on a couch. Others come to us carrying the effects of neglect, trauma, or abuse.

They don't walk through your door knowing your routine, your expectations, or what you want from them. They need time to decompress, learn, trust, and understand that they're finally safe.

Here at Maggie and Me, we want every adoption to be joyful for both the new family and the pup—and most importantly, we want it to be forever. ❤️

Please don't expect a new dog to fit perfectly into your life on day one. Meet the dog in front of you—not the dog you imagined they would be—and be willing to help them become part of your family.

Too many dogs are returned before they've even had a chance to understand that they were home.

Give them time. Give them patience. Give them a chance. 🐾❤️
