Growing Knowledge, Planting Seeds for the Future!🌼🌲

Our Main Center and Robla after-school scholars had an amazing outdoor learning experience yesterday at Tahoe National Park alongside our service provider, EGE Out Foundation! Eternal Generations Emerging (EGE) Foundation 💚

Our scholars explored the forest, got their hands dirty planting wildflowers in an area planned to become part of the park when it opens in 2028, and created their own seed bombs to take home and plant! 🌱🌸

Experiences like these allow our scholars to connect with nature, learn about environmental stewardship, and discover how small actions can make a lasting impact. We planted more than flowers — we planted seeds of curiosity, responsibility, and growth! 🌻✨

This week has been extremely difficult, with the unexpected death of Ajani Everhart in a tragic vehicle collision. She was a shining light in our Robla School District Freedom School and afterschool worlds. Her smile, loving way with scholars and simply her positive presence will be missed by her co-workers/friends at RFDC. Please keep her family and the entire DPH/NorthSac/Robla neighborhoods in prayer. She was also a member of the Grant High Drumline! Rest in Heaven! 🙏🏾

What a night! Our community came together to share poetry, spoken word, music, truth, joy, and hope. ❤️

We heard powerful pieces centered on su***de awareness & prevention, felt the energy of uplifting songs, and witnessed participants use their voices to inspire, encourage, and connect.

Most importantly, we created a space that felt warm, welcoming, joyful, and safe to express.

Thank you to everyone who stepped up, showed love, listened, and helped make the night special! 🖤

This Sunday, scholars from our Main Center, Robla, and Natomas sites got the chance to see the Ringling Bros Circus visit Sacramento! Scholars were excited to see trapeze artists, different dancers, daredevils, and even a human cannon! For many, this was their first ever circus experience! We can’t wait to come back & see more! 🎪🎡🎠

Who Runs The World? 💃 Our young women at H. Allen Hight had the opportunity to work with All Things Pretty Inc. and learned how to carry themselves as young women, what to do when faced with adversity, and how to embrace all things pretty about themselves 💞 while we are sad to see them go, we’re looking forward to seeing how the girls use the tools they’ve learned to make their community a better place!
