Due to threatened federal homelessness funding streams, Homeless Youth Emergency Services & Housing (YE) and HY Pilot funding could disappear by the 2026–27 budget year, destabilizing critical services for thousands of vulnerable youth across California. It’s time for California to step up to stop chronic homelessness upstream before it begins.

In 2022–23 alone, the Homeless Youth Emergency Services Pilot provided:
• 625 educational services
• Shelter for 1,686 youth
• 22,175 meals
• 947 independent living supports
These services work and are desperately needed. Youth cannot wait.
