Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, marking the day in 1865 when news of emancipation reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

The Junior League of Birmingham honors the resilience, contributions, and achievements of Black Americans, both throughout history and in our communities today. As we reflect on this important day, we remain committed to fostering inclusion, understanding, and positive change through service and leadership.

Last week our members got together for a fun night of mahjong! We are so lucky that one of our members, , was able to teach us how to play such a fun game.

With pizza, snacks, and drinks, the evening flew by with laughter and a new skill! Big thanks to the for hosting us! Can’t wait for another mahjong night! ♥️
