A library visit here, a game night there, dinner out with friends, bowling, creative activities, and plenty of opportunities for fun along the way. That's just a glimpse of what our Independent Living Activities members enjoyed throughout October!

From community outings and social events to creative experiences and new adventures, our calendar is designed to help members stay connected, engaged, and actively involved in their community.

Whether they're exploring local resources, discovering new favorite restaurants, or spending time with friends, our members are building confidence, creating meaningful connections, and having fun along the way.

Here are a few snapshots from October's activities! 🍂✨

🎃 Not to be outdone, our Independent Living Activities members celebrated Halloween twice! With two parties, two costume contests, and lots of creative, clever looks, there was no shortage of Halloween spirit.

Congratulations to those who received costume contest honors, and thank you to everyone who dressed up and helped make both celebrations so much fun. 👻🧡

Our College students hosted a spook-tacular Halloween party yesterday! 🎃

From planning and preparing a delicious lunch (including brownie s'mores) to organizing games and music, they did an amazing job creating a fun afternoon.

And when it came to Halloween Jeopardy? Let's just say the students came ready to compete... and the staff team may have lost by a slight margin. (A very, very large margin. 😆)

Fall break is calling!

Our Independence College students have earned a little time to recharge after a busy stretch of learning, growing, and putting their new skills into practice!

From tackling laundry to planning and preparing meals, to building job skills, learning on the job and staying active, they're building the skills that make independence possible. And of course, there's time for a little fall fun at the c***r mill, too!

Because preparing for an independent future isn't just about learning how to do things. It's about building the confidence, discovering what's possible, and creating a life that's your own.

Are you ready for your next step toward independence?

We're still smiling from this weekend. 😊

Between budgeting activities, making grilled cheese and Rice Krispy treat s, and plenty of opportunities to practice independence, our students continued building skills that will serve them well for years to come.

Our next 8-week Independence Prep session starts November 2, and the next weekend experience is December 11-13. We'd love to welcome new students!
