This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating Lonnie Mimms—father, founder, board chairman, lifelong computer enthusiast, and the visionary behind Mimms Museum of Technology and Art.

What started with a Sol-20 computer his father bought for him grew into a passion for preserving the history of technology and inspiring future generations of innovators.

When asked about his favorite exhibit, Lonnie said:
“That’s like asking me to pick a favorite child. It’s all of them — and the ones to come too!” 💻

Bold colors, iconic titles, and a whole lot of nostalgia 🎮

Our “Art & Evolution of Chips” wall celebrates the game cartridges that changed the way we play. Before cartridges, consoles came with only a fixed set of games — until innovators like Jerry Lawson and the team behind the Fairchild Channel F revolutionized the industry with removable game cartridges.

From the Atari 2600 to Nintendo and Sega, these tiny plastic shells packed endless adventures onto a single chip and helped shape gaming culture as we know it. Stop by and spot some of your favorites from the golden age of gaming 👾
