Asmara's Story- Indonesia
Asmara* was just a young teen when her stepfather began abusing her.

At school, the bullying only added to her pain.

Home didn’t feel safe. School didn’t feel safe.

So she made a difficult decision—to leave and search for
a better life.

But what she found instead was more hurt.

With nowhere else to go, Asmara found herself in a brothel, where older men bought her for a few minutes or a few hours every day.

What she had hoped would be an escape became another place of deep suffering.

The daily horror of her life in the brothel made her consider ending it all.

But God had other plans.

Asmara found a She Is Safe Restoration Home where she received care for her mental health, education, and
a loving community of support.

“My mentors at the She Is Safe Restoration Home have taught me about love and forgiveness. They have shared about how God has changed their lives, and how He is changing mine,” Asmara shared.

According to the U.S
State Department:

Natural disasters, like the recent earthquake, exponentially increased the vulnerabilities of women and girls in the area.

Traffickers are now using social media to lure and capture girls to sell.

Conflict and instability in the region made it increasingly difficult for women to protect their daughters from being sold into slavery.

Sarah* lives in a rural village in Myanmar, where survival is never guaranteed.

With extremely limited job opportunities, the pressure to survive is constant—and the risk of trafficking is everywhere:

Promises of better jobs across the border often lead to slavery. And a brothel in her own village is a constant threat at her doorstep.

But Sarah’s story didn’t end there.

Instead, she learned how to stay safe from trafficking through her She Is Safe Group, and everything began to change.

Today, she’s a leader—serving as treasurer of her group, learning skills to earn income safely, and creating her own future.

“I want my daughter to have
a better future,” she says.

“Now, I am confident to speak up and make decisions.”

Instead of being at risk of being exploited, Sarah is building a different path—one of safety, strength, and hope for herself and her daughter.

When you become a RescueOne Partner, you help bring her out of danger and into a place of safety and healing.

With the right skills, she can build a future free from exploitation—and her family can find real alternatives so no daughter is vulnerable to being trafficked.

The reality that women and girls face in Nepal:

-Traffickers target vulnerable, rural communities with struggling families.
-In desperation, daughters are often sold as a means of survival.

The Good News:
We work in the high-risk villages in Nepal to equip families with dignified ways to create an income and keep their daughters safe.

Some of the teen girls have joined the family's animal husbandry business or are training at a sewing school, while younger girls can now attend school!

Inaaya* used to lie awake at night, wondering if her daughter would still be there in the morning.

As a young mother, she had already lost so much. When her husband left, the weight of survival—and protecting her little girl—fell entirely on her shoulders. In her community, she knew the risks. Girls disappeared. Taken. Sold.

For years, fear followed her.
All Inaaya ever wanted was simple: a different life for her daughter. One where she could grow up safe. Happy. Free.

That’s where She Is Safe stepped in.

Through a local She Is Safe Group, Inaaya found a path forward.

She’s learning skills to be able to create a small but steady income, how to care for her family with health and nutrition, and how to stay safe from traffickers.

“I’m so grateful and hopeful for my daughter’s future.”

This is the heart of
She Is Safe’s mission—helping mothers like Inaaya be safe from exploitation, able to protect their children, and equipped to build a safe and free future.

Young girls are being rescued from brothels and given a safe home, education, and the love of Christ.

As they grow up, many become mentors and leaders in their community, helping break the cycle of exploitation for the next generation.
