✨✨Roswell Rotary Continues Tradition of Leadership and Fellowship✨✨

This month, the Roswell Rotary Club proudly continued one of its longest-standing traditions by hosting its annual Past Presidents Dinner — a gathering that has brought together club leadership for more than 30 years. The evening serves as an opportunity for past presidents and the current Board of Directors to come together for fellowship, reflection, and leadership transition as the club prepares for a new Rotary year. More importantly, it provides an opportunity for incoming leadership to receive wisdom, encouragement, and perspective from those who have previously served in the role of club president. Amazingly, of the 29 living past Presidents of Roswell Rotary, 25 of them were in attendance!

This year’s dinner was graciously hosted by Past Roswell Rotary President and Rotary District 6900 Past Governor Bob Hagan, who opened his home for the occasion. The event was coordinated by Roswell Rotary Events Chair Bobby Clarkson, who partnered with our local Outback Steakhouse Steakhouse to provide an outstanding catered dinner for the evening. Current Roswell Rotary President Trummie Lee - State Farm Insurance Agent Patrick opened the evening by welcoming everyone, giving thanks to those that helped this night happen, and passed the microphone to each past President in the club. One by one, former club presidents stood and introduced themselves by their year of service, offering Leslie Bassett words of encouragement and leadership advice as she prepares to lead the club during the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

The evening was marked by perfect weather, meaningful fellowship, and a strong sense of connection between the club’s past, present, and future leadership. Leslie Bassett thanked the group for their support and reflected on the importance of preserving traditions that strengthen unity within the club. She gave a powerful, yet measured, look into what she plans to accomplish in the coming Rotary year, while acknowledging the treasured advice of those Past Presidents in attendance.

Events like the Past Presidents Dinner are a reminder that Rotary leadership is never carried alone. Through mentorship, fellowship, and a shared commitment to Service Above Self, Roswell Rotary continues to build lasting bonds that strengthen not only the club, but also the broader mission of Rotary throughout Roswell, Georgia, and internationally.

Do yall ever wonder how all of the funds are spent from our Annual Golf, Tennis and Pickleball Tournament?

Roswell Rotary and President Trummie Lee Patrick, III want to share a story that could have an impact on you, your neighbor or your family member. One of the grants awarded from this year's tournament went to the Roswell Fire Department to order an EV Fire Blanket XL Kit.

This includes a high-temperature blanket to rapidly contain vehicle fires, it helps limit the oxygen tot he fire and suppresses the flame spread. It can be deployed in 90 seconds by two firemen. It also includes the EV Suppressor Mister, a specialized battery-cooling nozzle designed for electric vehicle battery fires.

Together these tools enhance firefighter safety, improve operation readiness and better prepare the Roswell Fire Dept for the evolving changes associated with vehicle technology.

YOU and each of your fellow rotarians made a difference in this community. We appreciate our partnership with the RFD!

President Trummie Lee Patrick III's meeting today was full of all things Rotary.

Scott Bagwill shared his message of determination, persistence and the will to live. Today, Scott Bagwill is running miles along the Atlanta BeltLine, training for races, dreaming about completing an Ironman in 2030, and celebrating a transformation that has changed nearly every part of his life. Two years ago, Scott weighed 596 pounds, the highest documented weight of his life. He believes he may have weighed more at times, but that number was the moment he knew something had to change. Thank you to Past Presidents Jacque Digieso, Ph.D and Bob Hagan for introducing Scott to us.

Our Georgia Rotary Student Program, student Louise Nielsen brought her family to our meeting. Her dad is a Rotarian from Denmark!

We moved two members from Red Badge to Blue and had a special presentation from the Roswell Fire Department. Stay tuned for an update about that tomorrow!

We are looking forward to his inspiring and impactful message about his health journey.

President Trummie Lee Patrick III would like to introduce you to one of our newest members, Connor Beecham.

Growing up in Milton, but surrounded by a Roswellian family, Connor Beecham and wife, Kelley, moved to Roswell about a year ago from Brookhaven. Meeting with Bob Clarkson helped him decide to join Roswell Rotary.

Since his dad, Steve Beecham has belonged to the Alpharetta Rotary for 25 years, he was quite familiar with the concept and ready to plug into our community.

Graduating from Kings Ridge Christian School in 2010, Connor started his college career playing football at Samford University for 2 years prior to transferring to UGA in 2013, then earning his BA in Business Management in 2015.

With his dad, he proudly co-owns Home Town Mortgage based in Alpharetta, the oldest mortgage company operating there. His wife works at Anchored Mind, a mental health and nutrition studio based here at Woodstock Road and Canton Street. Now living in Land O Lakes, they have started to build an incredible group of friends in their neighborhood…possible Rotarians in the near future?

Fun fact: Connor co-owns a local residential painting company here in Roswell called Terminus Painting Company!
