Congratulations to these officers and especially to our own K9 Officer Leistikow for her Medal of Valor! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Community Service, Carolen Bailey Mentoring, Medal of Valor.

Your Saint Paul Police officers were nominated for and received several awards at the annual Minnesota Association of Women Police conference.

Officer Joelle Schutz received the Community Service award for her work in the ASPIRE Unit and connecting with Saint Paul youth.

Sergeant Chelsey Siverling received the Carolen Bailey Mentoring award for her efforts within the Training Unit and our academy classes.

Officer Melissa Leistikow and Sergeant Megan Kosloske received the Medal of Valor for their actions and courage during a use of force incident last summer.

Congratulations to Officers Schutz and Leistikow, and Sergeants Siverling and Kosloske! We're proud of you and happy you received this recognition.

Training in all types of weather, at all times of the day, helps keep our handlers and canines sharp and ready for anything that might come next. However, we sure do love beautiful days like this!!

Congratulations are in order!! This past weekend, some of your favorite Saint Paul Police Canine Unit handlers participated in the 2026 United States Police Canine Association Region 18 Narcotics Certification trials. A total of 61 K9 teams competed. Bravo to all our participating SPPD K9 handlers who successfully passed their certifications. A special congratulations to our K9 team Officer S. Mao and K9 Blu for finishing 3rd place overall!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Happy 2nd Birthday, K9 Jocko! 🎂

One of the newest members of the Saint Paul Police K-9 Unit, Jocko is officially two today! Wishing him a very happy birthday filled with extra treats and plenty of playtime. 🐾

When he’s off duty, Jocko loves going on hikes and “helping” with yard work—always staying busy even when he’s not working.
