What an inspiring afternoon with the Northfield Rotary Club

District Governor Elect Michael-jon Pease was honored to present the District 5960 Spirit of Service Award to the incredible Jean Wakely — a Rotarian who truly lives “Service Above Self” every single day. Jean’s energy, compassion, leadership, and commitment to justice and volunteerism make her a force for good in Northfield and throughout our district. Congratulations, Jean, on this well-deserved recognition! 🎉

And the celebration didn’t stop there…

The Northfield Rotary Club also achieved GOLD LEVEL recognition from District 5960 in every category for large clubs — including Community Service, International Service, Youth Engagement, Public Image, Foundation Giving, Membership, and the prestigious District Governor Citation! 🏅🏅🏅

This kind of across-the-board excellence doesn’t happen by accident. It reflects a club culture built on leadership, service, teamwork, and a deep commitment to making a difference both locally and globally.

Congratulations to President Ann Lemming, Jean Wakely, and every member of the Northfield Rotary Club for setting the standard for Rotary excellence in District 5960!

The three Rotary Clubs in Rochester participated in EarthFest. It was a beautiful day, which matched the excellent sessions. We got to show our support for Adopt-a-drain. As a result, at least nine drains were adopted. We will keep the energy moving us toward surpassing our goal of adding 100 adopters.

🌎💧 This Earth Day, let’s turn purpose into action.
Rotarians across the region—including those in Rotary District 5960—are coming together to launch the Unite for Water Initiative, a multi-state effort to expand access to clean water and sanitation.
Now it’s our turn.
Clean water is essential to healthy communities, thriving ecosystems, and a sustainable future—and it’s one of Rotary’s core Areas of Focus. This is an opportunity for clubs in District 5660 to:
💧 Launch or join a water-focused service project
💧 Partner with other clubs for greater impact
💧 Engage your community in meaningful Earth Day action
💧 Be part of a growing regional movement for water equity
“When we invest in water, we invest in health, hope, and humanity.” — Glenn Bowers
🌱 Whether your club is already active in water projects or just getting started, there’s a place for you in Unite for Water.
👉 Connect with your club leadership or visit your district channels to learn how to get involved.
