An Afternoon of Reflection with Mikołaj Grynberg and Sean Gasper Bye

What a remarkable afternoon! 🌙✨ On October 5, 2025, MPMS, the Minnesota Jewish Community Center, the Polish Cultural Institute New York, POLIN-the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, and the Book Institute Poland hosted acclaimed Polish author and photographer Mikołaj Grynberg and translator Sean Gasper Bye for a screening of Proof of Identity followed by a thought-provoking literary conversation.

The event, moderated by Kasia Leville, inspired deep reflection and lively discussion about memory, identity, and the power of storytelling. Guests enjoyed an intimate book signing and conversation over refreshments generously provided by the JCC.

Thank you to all who joined us for this unforgettable afternoon of reflection and dialogue! 📚🎥

🎉 The Kalejdoskop Polski Minnesota project continues to thrive—celebrating the vibrant stories of Polish-American life through exhibitions, events, and community connections. Our team has been hard at work curating new stories, launching public displays, and creating space for cultural reflection and dialogue.

📸 We’re especially excited to share that Lives in Transition is now on view at the See18 Gallery in Terminal C of Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP), running from May 1 through August 31, 2025. This powerful exhibit highlights personal stories of immigrants who arrived in the U.S. during the Cold War era—offering a rare and moving glimpse into lives shaped by courage, upheaval, and resilience.

✨ The compelling narratives are beautifully captured by Minneapolis-based photographer David Sherman, whose lens brings depth and humanity to each story.
