This morning I woke up and began to reflect on the many memories KFACT has over the last 10 years and during the reflection I looked through so many pictures and videos, read testimonials, analyzed the various career fields our mentees pursued etc. and I was reminded of God’s faithfulness through launching a idea, securing the initial grant funding through Club Blue of Rockford, moving into the Girls Space and most importantly impacting the lives of over 950 Rockford girls!

I began to ask God “why is that the smallest organization have the largest impact for changing lives long-term but the least amount of funding for the mission and services provided?” and he whispered “faithfulness produces fruitfulness, remain faithful”.

Some of the produced fruit of our faithfulness even when we aren’t fully funded, have limited resources and increased barriers are the following:

100% high school graduation rate for the past 10 years and counting!

70 plus post-secondary graduates

92% program retention rate

Less then 2% becoming teen parents

Imagine the return on investment if we were fully funded! Mentoring makes a measurable difference and we need your support for the continuation and expansion of our mentoring program, Lady All Stars! Invest today at www.k-fact.org.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to host a Magical Bayou Princess and The Frog Prom Premiere for Antwonette! I’ve watched her magical transformation since she was just a toddler because she’s the 3rd generation family member to be a mentee in KFACT! Her sister Kia is a KFACT Alumni and her cousin Destiny was KFACT’s very first mentee!

Antwonette is more then beauty she’s pursuing a degree in Nursing this fall and we can’t wait to see what all she accomplishes her 1st year of college!

Thank you Antwonette and Delicia for allowing me to be apart of the Magical Bayou it’s a honor to be part of your forever family!

Love, Mrs. Shamika & KFACT
