HEY ROCKFORD! IRONMAN 70.3 Rockford is this Sunday, June 14, and it will have a significant impact on traffic throughout the city.

If you live, work, attend church, or have plans in any of the areas shown on the map below, be sure to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

PRO TIP 1: The routes highlighted in green on the map are your best options for getting across town. In many cases, using Auburn Street, Morgan Street, or Illinois Route 251 will be much faster than waiting for roads or lanes to reopen.

PRO TIP 2: Download the free Waze app before race day. Waze provides real-time traffic updates and can help drivers navigate around closures and congestion throughout the event.

It’s exciting to be able to put up our invitation to pick sign. Collards, Kale, onions are available now. Snap peas and tomato plants are blooming. Pictured are four volunteers who made this happen: Ginny Hatwich, Adrienne Walker, Dave Noel, and Judy Wyatt + Jeanne Bemi who designed the sign. We had a lot of help from a group called SCARF who did much of the early and heavy work. Episcopal Charities underwrites the garden.

Emmanuel welcomed The Rev Tommy Rogers from Bishop Anderson House as our celebrant on Trinity Sunday. His sermon focused on the importance of community.
