The 2026 Annual Family Field Day at the fairgrounds was a huge success, with hundreds in attendance enjoying music by FineMindz Polo Polo and support from presenting partner Aetna. Dozens of volunteers and nonprofit vendors contributed to the event, which served over 750 hot dogs and sausages to almost 300 pre-egistered attendees and over a hundred walk-ups.

Thank you to partners, especially this year's presenting partner Aetna Better Health of Illinois for supporting this community events commitment to health.

Also, thanks to Mayor Thomas McNamara who brought his own children and State Senator Steve Stadelman for his commitment to ensuring our organization has less barriers to reach people in the community.

Guest volunteer Alderman Tamir Bell who helped us close the final touches for such an amazing event in the 13th ward for the youth, along with Ron Clewer from the tipping point who also gave us a helping hand to reach more Fathers this year.

Please connect with us to learn how you can help a Dad stay connected in Winnebago County and the City of Rockford.

Happy Father’s Day from FatherHood United

Today, we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, coaches, uncles, and father figures who show up every day to love, guide, protect, and support the next generation.

Fatherhood matters. Research continues to show that when fathers are actively involved in their children's lives, families are stronger, children are more confident, communities are safer, and future generations are better equipped to succeed. Fatherhood is not just about providing—it is about presence, leadership, encouragement, and love.

At FatherHood United, we believe that every father deserves access to the education, resources, and community support needed to be actively involved in their children's lives. That's why our mission is to restore, equip, and activate fathers so they can build stronger families and healthier communities.

This Father's Day, we also raise awareness of the importance of investing in fathers. Programs like FatherHood United help create unity in the home, strengthen family foundations, connect fathers to resources, and develop advocates who can support other men on their fatherhood journey.

When we support fathers, we support children. When we support children, we strengthen families. And when we strengthen families, we transform communities.

To every dad making the effort, learning, growing, and showing up—thank you. Your presence matters more than you know.

Happy Father’s Day.

Restoring Fathers. Rebuilding Families. Reviving Communities.
