Singer. Songwriter. Author. Philanthropist. Literacy champion.

Our newest display at the RPL Main Library honors Dolly Parton and the incredible legacy she leaves behind. Inspired by her father’s inability to read, Dolly founded the Imagination Library, a program that mails free books to young children and has helped millions develop a lifelong love of reading. We invite you to browse our collection and remember a woman who touched countless lives through her talent, generosity, and kindness.

We’re incredibly honored to receive this investment through Representative Maurice West in support of Rockford Public Library’s Adult Online High School program.

This isn’t just an investment in RPL, it’s an investment in people, families, and the future of our community. Every diploma earned creates new opportunities, and it moves all of us closer to the shared goal of achieving functional zero by helping more adults gain the education and stability they need to thrive.

Thank you, Representative West, for believing in this work and in the potential of every learner.
