We were formed in September 2005 and chartered as a chapter of the National Christ Child Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving children in need, for the love of Christ in the Quad Cities area in October 2008.

Thanks to Allouez Council #658 of the Knights of Columbus who invited our Christ Child Chapter to host an informational table at their pro-life pancake breakfast this weekend. The blueberry pancakes were hot and delicious. Unfortunately, I ate them before I thought of taking a picture.

Thanks to members Deacon Joe Dockery-Jackson, Mary Cullison, Alyssa Dalton and Ashley O'Meara who volunteered to help staff the Christ Child table at the Head Start Pumpkin Party this week. We provided games for the children and distributed 80 books with a seasonal theme.

Before our truck arrived back home, we received this message from Head Start in gratitude for our clothing donations.

Yesterday our chapter made use of our Birdies for Charity funds by delivering an abundance of new clothing to Head Start in Rock Island. Donations included 60 warm winter jackets, 60 pairs of ski mittens, as well as many pairs of socks, underwear, leggings and slacks for their preschoolers in need.

Many thanks to our members and friends who donated to our Birdies for Charity fundraiser. We received checks today totaling $2,698.42. The Birdies Bonus this year was 8.8%!

Help Us Welcome New Life with Love
We are collecting items to create layettes for newborns at local hospitals and agencies serving families in need. Each layette includes basic clothing and baby essentials. These gifts offer hope and comfort to families of newborns in need. Items may be brought to our Shower of Love on November 14, 2026. Details on the shower time, date and location will be shared soon.

Karen Wieland is one of the most faithful (and faith-filled) volunteers our chapter has. Over the past twenty years, Karen has donated well over 1,000 handmade infant caps for our layettes. Thank you, Karen.

Thanks to our volunteers who helped out at the Rock Island Head Start spring family fair on May 21st at Horace Mann Early Childhood Learning Center. Karen Gibbs, Nan Bruckman, Jan Leone and Alyssa Leone (not pictured) distributed 130 books to preschoolers. Our theme was Mouse Loves Spring. Each child received the book Mouse Loves Spring and a craft package to create a mouse puppet. Each child also had the option to select an additional book of their own to take home.

In addition to assembling layettes, we have volunteers who make deliveries of the layettes to hospitals and local agencies. Thanks for your help Ethan.
