When Monkey was rescued, he was missing an eye and had a broken jaw. Despite suffering so much in life, he showered his new family with the same love they showed him. After all he had been through, he was still in pain due to teeth problems.

Rochester Hope for Pets was able to help with funding for his much needed dental care and now, his mom says he’s doing great! Go little pirate, go! 🏴‍☠️🦷

We love this graphic (and all of the incredible staff at these Rochester-area ER vets). Save, print, and put it on your fridge just in case! 🙏

The bond between a person and their pet is unlike anything else. 🐾 It's the dog who senses when you're having a hard day. The cat who curls up exactly when you need comfort. The pet who has been there through every high and low. That bond is worth fighting for — and it's exactly what Rochester Hope for Pets was built to protect. 💛

Today's Tail of Hope is all about the importance of preventative testing.

Blu tested negative for heartworm when he was adopted. However, when his preventative ran out and he got re-tested a year later, the results came back positive. But how? Heartworm medications are highly effective, but dogs can still become infected. If you miss just one dose of a monthly medication—or give it late—it can leave your dog unprotected.

Despite being out of work due to COVID-19, Blu's dad but his pup's health first. Through the network of animal welfare organizations in our community, we were able to connect with him and help with the cost of treatment. And by the looks of Blu's smile, he's happy we did!
