Today we pause to honor those who served. 🇺🇸

For many veterans, their pets are a lifeline — offering daily comfort, routine, and unconditional love. That's why Rochester Hope for Pets established the Monast Fund: a special fund dedicated specifically to helping military families in our community afford emergency veterinary care for their beloved pets.

Thank you to all who have served. We hope you and your furry companions enjoy a peaceful holiday together. 🐾❤️

Flashback Friday to one of our favorite events so far this year — the Rochester Dachshund Parade! 🌭🐾

We had the best time connecting with so many local pet lovers and sharing what Rochester Hope for Pets is all about. Events like this remind us why we do what we do — this community is full of people who genuinely care about the animals in their lives.

If you stopped by our table and said hello, thank you! And if you've ever wondered how you can get involved or support our mission, we'd love to hear from you. 💛

The #1 reason pets are surrendered to shelters? Their owners can't afford vet care. 💔

Rochester Hope for Pets exists to change that — one family, one pet at a time.

We love sharing stories like this one 💛

"Juniper Moon is more than just a pet to our family—she is a joyful, curious companion who has filled our home with warmth and personality since the day she came into our lives. Like many pet owners, we never imagined facing a moment when her health would suddenly be at risk and the path to helping her would feel uncertain.

Earlier this year, Juniper Moon required surgery to address a serious medical issue affecting her mobility. Watching a beloved pet struggle to move comfortably is heartbreaking. We knew she needed specialized surgical care, but like many families, the financial burden of that care was daunting. Our primary concern was simple: we wanted to give Juniper the chance to heal and return to the happy, energetic dog we know and love.

That is when Rochester Hope for Pets stepped in.

Through their financial assistance program, Rochester Hope for Pets helped make Juniper Moon’s surgery possible. Their support eased a tremendous amount of stress during a very emotional time and allowed us to move forward with the care she needed without delay. It is difficult to fully express the relief we felt knowing that an organization in our own community was willing to step forward and help families like ours when it mattered most.

Juniper Moon has now had her surgery and is currently recovering at home. We are happy to share that she is making encouraging progress. She is up on her feet, walking around the house with a cautious but determined gait, and slowly regaining her confidence day by day. While she still has healing ahead of her, we are already seeing glimpses of her playful spirit returning.

Every small step she takes reminds us how meaningful Rochester Hope for Pets’ support has been—not just medically, but emotionally as well. Their generosity gave Juniper Moon a chance to heal and gave us peace of mind during a difficult moment.

Organizations like Rochester Hope for Pets truly make a difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them. We are deeply grateful for their compassion and for the work they do in our community.

From our family—and especially from Juniper Moon—thank you for giving her the opportunity to keep living the life she loves." - Fernan, Juniper Moon's pawrent

At Rochester Hope for Pets, we believe that financial hardship should never mean losing a beloved pet. 🐾

We're a local nonprofit dedicated to providing emergency financial assistance to pet owners in the Rochester area facing expensive veterinary treatment. When a family can't afford necessary care, we step in so they don't have to say goodbye too soon.

Since our founding in 2008, we've helped thousands of pets get the care they need and have a second chance.

🌿 Spring Tips for Pet Parents!

Warm weather is here — and so are some hidden dangers for your fur babies. Many common spring plants like tulips, azaleas, and lilies are toxic to dogs and cats.

Before you plant your garden or bring home a bouquet, check the ASPCA's list of toxic plants at aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control.

Remember: keeping your pets safe is the first step to keeping them healthy! 🌸
