Kitty volunteers needed! 🤍🐾

**UPDATE** We have received dozens of applications from people wanting to volunteer! This is truly amazing! We will do our best to get back to each and every person that has filled out our form, please just be patient with us as we are volunteers doing this on off times in spare time from our jobs and families. Again, thank you to everyone who has stepped up wanting to help us.

🐾 Do you love cats and want to make a real difference? 🐾

Habitat for Cats is looking for a few dependable volunteers to join our shelter team! If you’ve been looking for a meaningful way to give back, this is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to help cats who have survived life on the streets and are finally safe, loved, and waiting for their forever homes.

We’re looking for volunteers who can commit to one or two shifts each week and who understand how important reliability is. Our cats count on us every single day, and every volunteer plays an important role in making sure they receive the love and care they deserve.

We’re especially looking for people who:
🐱 Love cats
🐱 Work well as part of a team
🐱 Can follow established procedures
🐱 Are dependable and committed to a consistent weekly schedule

No experience is necessary—we’ll show you everything you need to know! Most importantly, we’re looking for kind, compassionate people who want to make a difference.

📍 We’re located in the Seabreeze/Culver Road area of Rochester, so reliable transportation is required.

If you live within 40 miles of Rochester or are a client at one of our local hospitals and are facing an unexpected vet bill, Rochester Hope for Pets may be able to help.

All it takes is getting a vet exam, obtaining an estimate, and submitting your application online.

Summer heat can be tough on our four-legged friends 🌞 A few reminders as you head into the weekend:

☀️ Always have fresh water available
☀️ Avoid walks on hot pavement
☀️ Never leave pets in a parked car

Small steps go a long way in keeping the pets we love safe all season long! 🐾

Tail of Hope: Sadie

Sadie woke her mom Jen at 4am, crying and severely bloated. After two emergency vets and over $6,000 in bills — on top of a cross-country move, a sick cat, and Jen's own health struggles — the family was exhausted and overwhelmed. And this was just 9 months after Sadie had beaten cancer. 🐾

Jen searched desperately for help, applying to organization after organization. She was turned away every time — her case wasn't serious enough, the bill was already paid, or her pet had survived.

Rochester Hope for Pets was one of her last attempts. Not only did we respond — within 4 days, we awarded Sadie a generous grant toward her bills.

We're so happy to share Sadie has made a full recovery. 💛 And Jen says she can't wait for the day she can donate back to help another family going through what she went through.
