Community Hour November 1 Justice and Joy – “Lord, why do you make me look at injustice?” These words were written by the prophet Habakkuk 2,630 years ago. We might find ourselves asking the same question...still! Join fellow parishioners Jennifer Franz and Anne Beatty as they share how this past summer's women's retreat, entitled "The Spirituality of Trees," helped them engage this question. Come and listen. You are part of these answers through St Stephen’s. Is this a calling and our purpose?

All Souls, All Lives: A Vigil of Remembrance – November 2 at 7:15 pm
This 30 minute prayer service will remember especially those who have been killed by "idealistic violence." Consider those known and unknown whose lives ended because of an "idea," rather than self-defense. So much killing has happened without even due process. We will lift up our grief as we lift up their lives to the God of the Life. Join us! Bring a friend. All expressions of faith are welcome.

All Saints Sunday - November 1 (turn your clocks back an hour the night before)! We’re doing up All Saints Sunday BIG. We’re offering a unique worship experience for the beauty of this day. St. Stephen’s Choir will offer Mozart’s beloved Sparrow Mass with strings, choir, and soloists during the 10am service of Holy Eucharist. This is one of the most famous and beautiful settings of the prayers used in the service every Sunday. We are looking forward to this enrichment of our worship!

Relational Health for addiction prevention at St. Stephen's on October 25th at noon. Lynn Tidgewell, LMFT serves our community through Ridgefield Youth and Family Services. She will share relational practices families can use to make young people resilient in the face of addictive substances. Rather than expending all our effort solely on prevention, we can equip ourselves with practices which strengthen healthy relationships to address pain, anxiety, and fear. Young people will choose what is most effective. Are you aware of effective relational skills?

Did you know that St. Stephen's Church distributes candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween? We expect as many as 1,000 children to stop by! Please consider donating a bag (or two) of candy to support this effort. A collection basket is located in the church, and donations can be dropped off during daylight hours between now and October 31.Thank you for your generosity!
