Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield, CT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield, CT was founded in 1972 in the basement of Saint Mary School, delivering 24 meals/week to those in our community who were unable to prepare their own meals due to age, disability or recovery from illness, injury or surgery. Today, we prepare and deliver around 40,000 meals a year out of our commercial kitchen in Ballard Green. We have only 5 part-time employees and over 160 volunteers who ensure our wheels keep turning. Lunch and dinner is available up to 7 days/week, and our meals are freshly prepared with plenty of healthy ingredients. We receive no federal or state aid and we rely on the generosity of the community to fund our program.

The season of giving is officially underway! 🍂

What better way to welcome November than spending a beautiful fall day giving back to the community we love?

The Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce was proud to team up with Meals on Wheels to help deliver meals to our neighbors and support an organization doing such important work in our community.

Meals on Wheels makes a meaningful difference in the lives of Ridgefield residents, providing not only nutritious meals but also a vital connection to the community. We are grateful for the dedicated volunteers and supporters who make this incredible mission possible.

Here’s to a season of generosity, connection, and showing up for one another.

Behind every meal delivered is a heart full of compassion! 💚

We gathered to celebrate the incredible people who keep our mission moving: our volunteers. From healthy delicious meals, rain or shine deliveries to the warm smiles shared at every doorstep, you are the backbone of our community.

To our kitchen folks, drivers, packers, and behind-the-scenes heroes - THANK YOU! You deliver so much more than nutrition; you deliver connection and hope.

Good neighbors really do make good sandwiches. 🥪💚

Every week, our Meals on Wheels kitchen is filled with people who help us care for our Ridgefield neighbors — and some of that help comes from other local businesses right here in our community.

We’re so grateful to our friends at Genoa Deli & Pizza for providing the deli items that go into the sandwiches our volunteers prepare and our drivers deliver to our clients.

It’s one of those partnerships that reminds us Meals on Wheels is about so much more than what happens inside our kitchen. It takes local businesses, volunteers, donors and neighbors all pitching in to take care of one another.

Thank you, Genoa, for being such a good neighbor. 💚
And for helping us make some very good sandwiches. 🥪

Good things grow when a community comes together. 🌿💚

We’re delighted to be a community partner for the Fifth Annual Ridgebury Farm Fête, A Tomorrow Worth Growing, on October 3.

It promises to be a beautiful evening celebrating the people, programs and partnerships that make our Ridgefield community such a special one — with cocktails, dinner by the bite, live music, auctions and stories of impact along the way.
We’re especially happy to join our friends at Ridgebury Farm & Stables and the many local businesses and community partners helping bring the evening to life. 💚

Some things are even better when you do them together. 💚

This week’s Volunteer Spotlight is a mother-daughter team: Sarah and Michaela Duffy, who spent their morning helping out at Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield.

We love seeing families make volunteering part of the time they spend together — and we’re especially grateful when that time is spent helping us care for our Ridgefield neighbors.

Thank you, Sarah and Michaela, for being part of our MOW family. 💚

Interested in joining us, too? We’d love to have you.

A little reminder from our kitchen for the weekend. 💛

☐ Notice something beautiful
☐ Do something kind
☐ Bring a little sunshine to someone’s day
☑️ And when someone brings you a giant dahlia, stop and enjoy it.

One of our Meals on Wheels clients brought this gorgeous flower into the kitchen this week — a little bit of sunshine on a rainy weekend.

Sometimes kindness is a meal delivered to a neighbor.

And sometimes kindness comes back through the door carrying a flower. 💚

Have a beautiful weekend, Ridgefield.
