ANOTHER CONTAINER OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES IS ON THE WAY TO UKRAINE! THE GENEROSITY OF RIDGEFIELDERS AND OUR NEIGHBORS RUNS DEEP.
We didn't even have an official donation drive underway - people just kept bringing walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, medical beds, wound care supplies and more. Ridgefield really does Respond.
💙💛❣️

Once the container arrives in Ukraine, our wonderful partners Ukraine Aid International (UAI) will deliver the supplies to the hospital in Druzhkivka, our Sister City, as well as the main Regional Hospital in Kramatorsk, about 13 miles to the north. A portion will also go to field hospitals near the frontlines, as arranged by Ukraine 06877.

Special thanks to Committee Member Ross Voytovych, and volunteers Theo, pani Nadiya, Chris, Dima and friends, for organizing and packing this shipment.

JOIN US SUNDAY! RALLY AT THE STATE CAPITOL IN HARTFORD!
This weekend marks the sad and somber fact that it has been 2 years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This means that for 730 days Ukrainians have endured attacks from the air, sea and land. While the most intense fighting and devastation is concentrated in eastern Ukraine, every major city and many small ones have had an attack, including the capital city of Kyiv which has experienced multiple, targeted attacks - only to rebuild and get back to normal life as soon as possible each time. While the destruction and devastation in the east and other pockets across the country fill our hearts with dismay, the resolve and resilience of Ukrainians is inspirational and fills our hearts and souls with hope and respect.

Ridgefield Chorale Show Raises $9,000 for Ridgefield Responds: Hope for Ukraine! Director Daniela Sikora expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to support the people of Ukraine: "The Chorale is committed to offering music, not just to create joy but in service to our communities. We are deeply concerned about the people of Eastern Ukraine as winter settles in and families are without basic necessities. This donation is our way to let them know that they are in our hearts.”

Proceeds from The Ridgefield Chorale’s sold-out Holiday Concert in December were directed to RIDGEFIELD RESPONDS: HOPE FOR UKRAINE to support the purchase of a water filtration system in the sister city of Druzhkivka, located in the war-torn region of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine.

“As the war in Ukraine approaches the two-year point, the 30,000 remaining residents and nearly 15,000 internal refugees finding shelter in our Sister City continue to struggle through daily life. Much of the basic infrastructure, like the water system, has been crippled. Access to safe, clean drinking water is limited, rationed, and expensive. By providing this water filtration and purification system we help bring safe drinking water to 10,000 residents and refugees in Druzhkivka. Purchasing this system in Ukraine from a Ukrainian company means that we are also supporting Ukrainian workers and their economy,” explained Annetta Hewko, Steering Committee member. We are so grateful to the Ridgefield Chorale for their support - a shining example of the generosity and compassion in our community. For me personally, this is a beautiful intersection of two organizations in our community for which I have a lot of passion.”
