The minutes from our most recent board meeting have been emailed out, if you don’t see them in your inbox let us know! As noted in the email, we are looking for 3 volunteers to help advise the board: one re timed events, one re rough stock, and one parent at large. If anyone is needing a new straw hat head over to The Boot Store to see Wayne, Paul and Luke! Be sure to tell them BGYRA sent you, we are so grateful for their continued support and their exceptional inventory and service!!

It’s that time of the year! Straw season is upon us. The Boot Store has a great selection of straw hats from American Hat Company and a few Resistols. We have a bunch of Rodeo King straws on order and should be here any day now. Hopefully. 🤞 Stop and check us out!

It is with immense gratitude that we wish our BGYRA President, Carl David Otten, well as he focuses on family in this season of his life. As a founding member of the BGYRA, he helped provide the energy that shaped the vision of bringing the sport of rodeo to the youth of Central Kentucky. To continue his work, the Board will remain steadfast and consistent in that vision. While my work is busy, the success of the rodeo has always been a top priority. Therefore, I am assuming the office to help maintain stability within the Association. Sam Brown will fill the role of Vice-President as he was unanimously elected this week in our special election. I am convening the Board for a closed meeting on Friday evening. We will email the minutes of that meeting to all members. With 4 rodeos behind us, 8 more to go this season and a great group of kids, we look forward to an exciting year ahead. Thank you for your support and participation as we continue to grow the Bluegrass Youth Rodeo Association for our kids and hopefully their kids.
