Woodford County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy Board (ASAP) began in 2003 to address youth and adult substance abuse prevention, enforcement and treatment strategies within the community. Since 2003, the board has put forth tremendous efforts to address youth substance abuse in the community. rd County ASAP members have made strong commitments to decrease use overall in the community through billboards, youth involvement with events and contests, proclamations regarding substance abuse, disposal methods for prescription drugs, and encouraging local physicians to help fight the prescription drug problem plaguing the community.

* * * IMPORTANT ALERT - COUNTY NOTICE * * *

Woodford County Judge Executive James Kay and WC Emergency Management Agency Director Drew Chandler have opened an overnight emergency shelter at Falling Springs Recreational Center located at 275 Beasley Road. This is due to the report from Kentucky Utilities that power will not be restored tonight for nearly 700 customers in southern Woodford County. The shelter is open NOW!

Service animals are allowed, but NOT pets. If brought, they can be temporarily housed at the WC Animal Shelter.

The attached Woodford Alert went out at 5:35 pm today.

NARCAN dispensers, bags and gloves are now in vending machines provided by Woodford County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP) and New Vista. Narcan, also known by its generic name naloxone, is a medication that is used to revive opioid overdose victims. The vending machine is located outside the Dollar Tree store.
