Swim Smart Manny Prewitt Legacy Inc. Emanuel "MANNY" Prewitt departed this world unexpectedly due to a drowning accident in June 2020.

Our goal with SWIMSMART is to help keep our communities safe, we also want to bring water awareness & help educate water safety as we approach summer.

Swimming in open water (lakes, rivers, etc.) is more difficult than in a pool. You can get exhausted in a short amount of time and get into trouble due to waves, current, lack of experience, or your abilities have decreased. Even good swimmers can drown so !

Thrilled to announce that we are partnering with the Richmond Teen Center, Inc. David-Tammy Townsend and The HOOD (The Home Of Opportunities and Dreams) Youth Program and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife for the next build and placement of Swim Smart's Life Jacket Loaner Station!! This loaner station will be located on Lake Herrington where Manny's accident happened.
As we approach the warmer months and folks flock to water for a little sun and fun, PLEASE always be aware of your surroundings and cautious in and around bodies of water of any type.
