🚨 REFEREE ABUSE — RESPECT THE CALL 🟢
As we approach the first games of the season, here’s another important reminder for ALL MUSA families, coaches, players, and spectators.
🟢 SEE THE GREEN BADGE? THAT REFEREE IS A MINOR.
U.S. Soccer’s Green Referee Badge identifies officials under 18 years old. These young referees are learning, gaining experience, and helping grow our game. They deserve the same respect we expect for our players and coaches.
Frustration is not an excuse for disrespect. Referee abuse—verbal or physical—will not be tolerated.
U.S. Soccer’s Referee Abuse Prevention Policy addresses both physical and non-physical abuse and establishes sanctions for misconduct toward referees. Read the Referee Abuse Prevention Policy
Parents & spectators: Cheer for your team, not against the referee.
Coaches: Set the example.
Players: Respect the call, even when you disagree.
And when you see that 🟢 GREEN BADGE, remember: there is a young person out there learning the game.
Let’s protect our referees, support our young officials, and make MUSA a place where everyone can enjoy the game.
