We love seeing Junior Achievement of Eastern Indiana back in classrooms, helping students build the skills they need for a bright future!

From learning how communities work to exploring financial decision-making, these hands-on experiences are helping young people see the important role they can play in their communities.

We're proud to support Junior Achievement and the opportunities they provide for students across Wayne and Union Counties.

Thank you, JA, for inspiring and empowering the next generation!

🎃 Think Outside the Candy Bowl This Halloween! 🍬

Halloween is a time for fun, creativity, and making memories. But not every family experiences the holiday the same way.

In Wayne and Union counties, approximately 1 in 2 households is either in poverty or ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed), earning above the poverty level but not enough to cover everyday essentials.

🧡 The good news? A little kindness and empathy can go a long way! 💜

This Halloween, let's look for opportunities to spread kindness, show appreciation for those who help make the season special, and make sure everyone feels included in the fun.

👻 Check out our 5 Ways to Think Outside the Candy Bowl for simple ideas to make Halloween a little sweeter for everyone!

✨ Have another idea for spreading Halloween kindness? Share it in the comments!

Important update for Wayne County residents affected by the August flooding.

Please watch for a call from the Wayne County Long-Term Recovery Group at 765-312-4699 beginning Friday, September 25. This outreach will help identify residents who may still need assistance and connect them with available recovery resources.

If you or someone you know was impacted by the flooding, please share this information and answer the call. Helping us understand our community's remaining needs is an important step in long-term recovery. 💙

*** FLOOD SURVIVOR INFORMATION ***

Wayne County is establishing a Long-Term Recovery Group to assist flood survivors. We are grateful that many have already been helped and received funding from one or more sources.

To determine how many residents still need assistance, volunteers will be calling 211 registrants on Friday, September 25th and the week of September 28th, between 9:00a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

We will be calling from 765-312-4699. Volunteers will identify themselves by name, and state that they are from the Long-Term Recovery Group. We will never ask flood survivors for bank account numbers, social security numbers, or other personal identifying information.

Please share this message broadly with anyone who has been impacted by the disaster and encourage them to “answer the call” to ensure everyone who has been impacted gets help.
