YMCA Annual Run/Walk Fundraiser

Just a reminder that the event formally scheduled for today has been canceled. 😔

After much consideration and discussion, we have unfortunately decided to cancel the annual YMCA run/walk fundraiser. We feel it is in everyone's best interest to cancel the event until spring 2021.

If you have already purchased tickets, you'll be given the option to either apply your tickets to the 2021 race or get a refund. Derek Callahan will reach out to you individually to find out which option you prefer.

We apologize and thank you for your understanding. We hope to see everyone next year. Until then, stay safe and healthy!

P.S. - don't forget that the YMCA is open and has implemented social distancing and sanitation measures to keep our members healthy and germ free! Come see us!

You may think we have lost our minds, but we have not! However, we do have to change the date again and we promise, this is the last time! 📢📢 THE NEW DATE IS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2020! 📢📢

We would like to welcome everyone to join us for the 3rd Annual YMCA Run/Walk on Saturday, September 26, 2020 @ 9 a.m. The event will be held at Glen Miller Park Golf Course located on U.S. 40 East on Richmond's East side. All proceeds will go back into the local YMCA Equipment and Programs! Join us for fun for a good cause!

Ticket prices are:

$25 for non-YMCA members

$20 for YMCA members (NOTE: if you are a YMCA member, be sure to get your discount code from our front desk or contact Derek Callahan directly)

Active duty military and veterans FREE entry.

*Kids 5 and under are FREE*

This event will not be timed! It is designed to be a fun and active event that can be ran or walked. The event will be held on the old paved golf cart paths so they are stroller friendly! So bring your kids of all ages and your fur babies (must be leashed and must be friendly).

Food/snacks and water will be provided. At the conclusion of the event, we will hand out prizes for the top 3 finishers and announce raffle prize winners. Raffle tickets will be $1 per ticket to enter (no limit on entries per person). Raffle prices are to be determined and will be announced on this event page. We will also have a donation box if you would like to make a small contribution to your local Y.

Pre-registration bags can be picked up the day before the event on September 25 from 8am to 5pm at the YMCA (1215 South J Street).

Due to the uncertainty of when the social distancing orders will be lifted, this event will be rescheduled. We WILL still have it this year but it will be late summer/early fall. We are thrilled about our event location this year at the old Glen Miller Golf Course on Richmond's East side. The old golf cart paths will be perfect for rain or shine and will also be great for anyone who wants to push a child in a stroller. So bring the kiddos, make it a family day! Don't forget the family dog (must be friendly and on a leash). The golf course is next to the Rose Garden so don't forget to stroll through and look at all of the beauty it holds! And of course, if you still have some energy to burn, you can stroll through Glen Miller Park. Let's get signed up!
