Tuesday after school we gathered to celebrate Michael Perdomo! Michael has held several roles with us here, most recently last year as our Music Teacher and Band Director. We're so grateful for the time Michael spent with us and we're wishing him the very best in his next steps!

Trueblood had a great Family Night last night and the rest of RFS is looking forward to ours tomorrow at 5:30 pm!

We had our annual Creek Walk this past Friday and could not have asked for a more beautiful day! It's a favorite event for many of our students and staff and we're so grateful for all our families who supported this trip by driving and participating!

Richmond Friends School will be in session today, Friday, August 14. Familes are encouraged to use caution and to prioritize safety. If you do not feel safe coming to school, we understand, but please do call to let us know your child(ren) will be absent. Band will be happening at 7:45 for experienced band members. Welcome back!

Richmond Friends School will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, August 13th. This is due to the level 3 travel warning, caution for the safety of families and staff, and to stay out of the way of rescue personnel.

Today we had our annual ice cream social, courtesy of our 5th and 6th grade class! Every year John's class picks a variety of ice cream flavors to make for and serve to everyone, and it's definitely a beloved (and delicious) tradition. Thanks 5th and 6th grade!

It is with heavy hearts that we share with our community that Chris Nicholson, our co-founder and first teacher, passed away last week. As we celebrated the first day of school, we were also acutely aware that it is our first without her in our community.

Chris was able to visit the school multiple times in recent years, most recently just couple of months ago. It was wonderful, as always, to hear her wisdom and her stories.

Chris leaves an amazing legacy, and we are so proud to be part of it. We will be sharing more about this legacy as part of her memorial celebration in September.

Dolly was very excited to welcome our students this morning for our first day of the school year! It looks like it's going to be a fantastic year and we're so happy to be back!
