The Wayne County, Indiana, Foundation supported JA programming in 13 different Wayne County school buildings the past year as well as important learning experiences such as Stock Market Challenge and JA Reality Day for all Wayne County 6th and 10th grade students. We are very thankful to be able to continue this work!

Building the next generation of leaders starts early! Thanks to unrestricted giving, a $15,000 grant from our 2025 Grant Cycle II supported Junior Achievement of Eastern Indiana's curriculum access and hands-on Education Experience Kits, equipping Wayne County students with real-world skills for career readiness and financial literacy.

JA is back in classrooms and we would like to thank the United Way of Whitewater Valley - Wayne & Union Counties for their support! So far this fall, JA programs have started up at College Corner Elementary, Liberty Elementary, Union County High School, Northeastern Elementary and High School, Westview Elementary, and Centerville-Abington Elementary.

Mrs. Tipton's 3rd grade class has been participating in JA Our City. Her students have done a great job examining how cities work and the roles of businesses, organizations, and people in making the city successful. They have created a 3D city map, designed sustainable spaces, and simulated financial decisions. These students now see themselves as active contributors to their community!

We had such a great day with the East Central Educational Service Center hosting 200 9th graders at Sunnyside Education Center for Inspire Your Future! After a JA Inspire curriculum, students got to attend the event to dive deeper into learning about RIASEC and what careers interest them. They met with six employers and also participated in JA's "This is the Pitch" to showcase their elevator pitch on why they are the best candidate to be hired for the job. Today, students got to become part of a manufacturing team, inspecting parts and getting them packaged and ready for shipment. They created a new logo for a fictitious band. They helped real estate agents through inspection issues and finding the best housing option for their clients - and much more! A huge thank you to the employers who spent their day presenting to students - Primex Plastics, Purdue Extension, Quiet Strength Design, Vocational Rehabilitation, REMAX First Integrity, Whitewater Valley Rural Electric Membership Corporation, and Merchants Bank IN. Also thank you to the ECESC and Eastern Indiana Works for being great partners for this event!
