Holder is one of the foremost voices in American law and policy today. As the 82nd Attorney General under President Barack Obama and the first African American to hold the position, he broke boundaries with his progressive leadership and crucial influence on criminal justice in the United States.

The event will be moderated by Sunu Chandy, a civil rights attorney, poet and Earlham graduate from the Class of 1994.

Chandy is currently a Senior Advisor with Democracy Forward, and on the board of the Transgender Law Center. Chandy has been named one of the Washington Blade’s Q***r Women of Washington.

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity for a conversation exploring law, leadership, criminal justice and democracy.

Coming later this summer: Ask an Earlhamite!

Whether it's a student exploring career paths, a recent graduate settling into a new city, or an alum looking to connect with someone who shares their interests or expertise, Ask an Earlhamite will make it easier for the Earlham community to connect for advice, mentorship, and meaningful conversations.

To help make those connections possible, we're asking our alumni to update their email address, employer, position, and job title before the official launch. Keeping your information current will help students and fellow Earlhamites find the people, opportunities, and expertise they're looking for.

Update your information here: http://bit.ly/4aLAw3M

In what appears to be an ode to senior pranks from the 1980s, it appears that the cupola atop Carpenter Hall has been painted neon pink — just in time for commencement!

After missing 100 species by just FOUR birds yesterday, the Saltine Quackers headed to Marshlands Conservancy and Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in search of more species — and finally crossed the 100 mark.

We also got to hear from amazing Earlham alums about where their love of birding began.

If you’re a new or first-time donor, your gift before May 15 unlocks an extra $100 for Birding Big Day thanks to Bill Buskirk’s former students.

72 hours. Hundreds of birds to see. Hold on to your binoculars, the Saltine Quackers are back.

Day 1 took us from Albany to Manomet Conservation Sciences, where we spotted some incredible species — including a Piping Plover.

The goal for the day? 100 species.

Did we hit it? Good question.

Follow along all weekend and join Birding Big Day weekend by submitting eBird sightings to “Earlham”!
