We're Searching for Our Next General Manager!

First, we'd like to recognize and thank our current General Manager, Terry Bunch, for his outstanding leadership over the past 13 years. When Terry joined the Richmond Elks, the Lodge was facing significant challenges. Through his leadership, and in partnership with our Board, Trustees, Golf Pro Zack Palmer, dedicated staff, and volunteers, the Lodge has experienced tremendous growth and positive transformation. As Terry prepares for retirement and a move closer to family, we're searching for the right leader to build upon that strong foundation and help guide the next chapter of Elks Lodge #649.

Over the past week, we've been encouraged by the interest and support we've received from our members and the Richmond community. Thank you to everyone who has shared our post and helped spread the word!

As we continue our search, we want to remind people that this isn't just a management position—it's an opportunity to help lead one of Richmond's most established community organizations into its next chapter. Today, our Lodge is financially stable, our golf operations are thriving, our facilities have seen significant improvements, and our events, community, and member engagement continue to grow. Simply put—we're firing on all cylinders!

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, leading teams, creating memorable experiences, and making a positive impact in the community.

If you or someone you know has leadership experience in hospitality, food & beverage, events, operations, club management, nonprofit, or a related field, we'd love to hear from you.

The Richmond Elks Lodge #649 hosted the annual Americanism Essay Contest. The 2025-2026 theme was “What Does Service to Your County Mean to You?” An email was sent to all Wayne County school teachers and administrators to encourage youth in grades 5 through 8 to participate. Americanism is vitally important to the Elks and the contest is a way to highlight the youth in our local communities as they reflect on American values and the responsibilities of citizenship.
Thanks to Mr. Bruce Swallow and the other Nettle Creek teachers, 18 essays were submitted. The Elks hosted a Red Front pizza party at the school to present the awards. All participants received a certificate with the 1st place prize of $250 being awarded to Luke Kelly while Addison Fisher and Maxx Cowan tied for 2nd and 3rd place with an award of $75 each.
The three winning essays were forwarded to the District contest for review. Luke’s essay was the District winner and he ultimately won the State of Indiana essay contest! His essay has been submitted to compete against the winners for the National title. The Elks will be hosting this event again in November 2026.
