Now that we’re a week out from Election Day, we at Initiatives of Change U.S. want to share some crucial resources for our neighbors here in Richmond and across Virginia.
Find your polling location and more here: elections.virginia.gov/citizen-portal
Learn about the 3 Constitutional Amendments that you will find on your ballot from the ACLU of Virginia here: acluva.org/campaigns-initiatives/vote-yes/
If you witness or experience any attempts to infringe upon the right to vote, contact the Virginia Election Protection hotline here: 1-866-OUR-VOTE
In recent days, both Brazil and Serbia have once again proven the transformative power that the people have to change the course of history and expand freedom for all.
Reflect on your choices. Connect with neighbors in a shared commitment to our democracy. And then take action by voting!

Our recent Walking & Talking Tour of North Church Hill this past weekend was full of learning, exploration, and fellowship. Many thanks to the Valentine, our partner in this effort, and to the community members who joined us for this excursion, which was as historic as it was timely.
Stay tuned for future Walking & Talking Tours!

We are proud to continue our “Voices from US” series, where we uplift alternative viewpoints that challenge the prevailing understanding of our nation’s 250th anniversary.
Today, following Indigenous People’s Day, we are honored to feature the words of Robin Wall Kimmerer, a scientist, author, decorated professor of Environmental Biology, and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
This quote from Kimmerer’s book “Braiding Sweetgrass” serves as a call to action; one that seeks to inspire in us all a desire to pursue and achieve an inclusive form of environmental justice.
We exist as intersectional communities within an intersectional movement, and embracing Kimmerer’s focus on justice “for all of Creation” rejects the narrow “America First” doctrine, in favor of an approach that believes in the inherent value of all living things.
