When our Executive Director, Ebony Clark, speaks about this moment, she is speaking from the place of someone who sees the work up close: the survivors calling, the staff responding, the resources stretching, and the funding becoming harder to secure.

VAVP is not an abstract idea. It is housing support. Crisis intervention. Financial assistance. Safety planning. Advocacy. Trusted referrals. It is culturally specific care for LGBTQIA+ survivors who deserve to seek help without being misgendered, dismissed, stigmatized, or retraumatized in the process.

And right now, protecting that work requires all of us.

Access Makes Belonging Real

Access is more than accommodation. It is how we make belonging real.

Accessible services communicate that disabled people deserve to participate fully, receive support without unnecessary barriers, and move through community spaces with dignity.

VAVP continues working to strengthen how we serve disabled LGBTQ+ survivors across Virginia through accessible education, advocacy, community care, and survivor-centered support.
