Today, October 23rd, is the last day to register to vote here in Virginia! Your vote is your voice. Click here to register to vote or check your registration status: https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation

You can also take advantage of early voting opportunities until next Saturday, October 31st, at your local voter registrar's office and/or designated early voting location. This year, we are voting for U.S. Senate, U.S. House, local offices, and three Virginia constitutional amendments. These elections will influence the trajectory of Virginia for generations to come. Exercising our right to vote and making our voices heard has the power to influence federal laws, budgets, and regulations; the right to vote, make healthcare decisions, and marry who you love; and local ordinances, funding decisions, and public education.

Your and your family's voice in these decisions matters. Make sure you are heard at the ballot box by voting, voting early, and encouraging others to vote.

Lt. Gov. Ghazala Hashmi just came out against NextEra’s takeover of Dominion. 🚨

She spent weeks studying this deal and traveling the state to hear from Virginians about their power bills. Her conclusion: it doesn’t give Virginians the protections they need, and the SCC should not approve it.

She joins 14 lawmakers who’ve signed on as Ratepayer Champions.

The SCC is still taking public comments, and they’re due November 9. Add your voice before the deadline here:

Our faith traditions remind us that there is dignity in work and that we have a responsibility to ensure every worker is treated with dignity in return. ✊

Unions and the labor movement have taught us that environmental justice is economic justice. All people have the right to safe workplaces, living wages, affordable energy, and healthy neighborhoods free from pollution. 📣

This Labor Day, as people of faith and goodwill, let us recommit ourselves to building healthy, thriving communities where every worker is treated with the dignity and importance they deserve. 💚

🚫 We must block the NextEra merger. No conditions. No shortcuts. 🚫

How we treat our most vulnerable neighbors is a moral test. If the NextEra merger goes through, Virginia Families could see higher energy bills, less accountability, and a utility answering to Wall Street instead of rate payers.

Bigger monopoly. Bigger bills. That’s the deal on the table, and it’s bad for Virginians. 👎

250 years ago, we declared that all people are created equal and endowed with the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. 🇺🇸

For generations, many Americans have worked to make that promise real for everyone, while others fought against those very ideals. This Independence Day, we celebrate the progress we’ve made while recognizing the work that remains.

Liberty isn’t just an ideal or a word we say around patriotic holidays; it should be something every person can experience.

Liberty means drinking safe water.
Liberty means breathing clean air.
Liberty means affordable energy bills.
Liberty means green spaces where children can play.
Liberty means neighborhoods protected from extreme heat.
Liberty means access to healthy, nutritious food.

True liberty means justice for all of us.

As people of faith and goodwill, we believe caring for one another and caring for planet are inseparable. Together, we can continue building a future where every community has the opportunity to thrive no matter their zip code.

Happy 250th Birthday, America. May we continue striving toward a just, healthier, and more hopeful future for all. 💚
