A NEW SEASON, A GREAT START!

🍁 As we enter this new season, we welcome the changing leaves and the opportunity to set new intentions. As we prepare for the Fall Equinox, let’s reflect on what we want to release, what we want to nurture, and how we want to grow.

“As the leaves fall, I release what I no longer need. As the seasons change, I trust my own becoming. May I walk into this new season with wisdom, courage, and peace.” 🍂

Here’s to new beginnings, stronger connections, and a season filled with purpose, growth, and possibility! 💛

We’re off to a great start this year with the A.L.P.
We’ve been visiting our partner schools, building connections, and creating opportunities for students to learn, grow, and lead with
Armstrong High School, Thomas Jefferson High School, MLK Middle School, Richmond Success Academy, CodeRVA Regional High School.

We’re also looking forward to more meaningful circles with Drums No Guns and the University of Richmond as we prepare for our upcoming play! 🥁🎭

My heart is filled with gratitude for the faithfulness, unwavering love, and support I have received throughout my journey as Executive Director of the Armstrong Leadership Program. I am deeply humbled by the countless testimonies, remarkable growth, and many blessings that have unfolded along the way.
This work has been made possible through the many hands and hearts God has placed along our path: our generous donors, faithful volunteers, dedicated mentors, committed staff, and, most importantly, the incredible young people entrusted to our care. Each has played an invaluable role in advancing our mission and helping shape lives rooted in purpose, possibility, and hope.
As I reflect on the many retreats, field trips, cultural experiences, and meaningful partnerships with universities and outstanding youth-serving organizations throughout our city, I am reminded that this journey has truly been divinely ordained. Every experience, every relationship, and every life touched has been part of something far greater than any one of us.
Although much has changed over the years, one thing has remained steadfast: My calling to serve, uplift, and empower young people.
Through it all, I have remained committed to nurturing the God-given gifts of the youth we serve, creating opportunities for them to discover their potential, and surrounding them with the love, guidance, and support they need to flourish.
As I continue this journey, my prayer is that I never lose sight of why I began and that I remain faithful to the work God has placed before me: Cultivating a Generation of young people who dare to DREAM boldly, BELIEVE faithfully, and ACHIEVE with purpose.

Mr. Chris was the one who showed up. Every retreat. Every time this program needed someone to be present, he was there. And he saw the best in every one of us. He died the way he lived: standing up for people.

We deeply appreciate all he poured into the youth of ALP. We will continue his legacy of kindness; we will not be moved.

Thank you, Mr. Chris. We love you.

We are celebrating 25 years of impact and we want you with us.

Generations of students have come through this program. Hundreds of mentors, partners, and supporters have shown up alongside them, shaping what ALP has become today. This milestone belongs to all of us.

If ALP has ever been part of your story as a mentor, partner, supporter, or student, this moment is for you. Come celebrate the community that continues to show up for young people in Richmond and honor what we’ve built together.
