Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign - CVC

Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign - CVC The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) facilitates Virginia state employee workplace and citizen community giving. Learn more at cvc.virginia.gov

The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) is a program that facilitates primarily state employee workplace giving but is open to all citizens as a safe, convenient, charitable giving vehicle. It is a voluntary charitable giving program, which raises funds for numerous nonprofit health, education, arts, environmental and humanitarian organizations and more, throughout the state of Virginia, the n

ation, and the world. Since 1997, employees have donated more than $52 million to participating non-profit organizations through CVC. Over 900 charities participate in CVC’s annual campaign, the peak of which typically runs from the first Wednesday in October through the third Thursday in December of each year. Employees may designate their gift to a specific charity or multiple charities within the program via payroll deduction, cash, credit card and a unique method called direct giving. This wouldn't be possible without the tremendous effort of our employee volunteers who organize activities and assist donors throughout the Commonwealth. CVC also coordinates special fund drives in times of emergencies, resulting in thousands of dollars in aid. CVC sends each designated gift to the organization selected by the donor. Charities are required to apply annually during the application period which begins on March 1st of every year. The governing policies, training, and administration of the program are executed, implemented and decided upon by the Employee Advisory Council, which is a representation of each Commonwealth Secretariat whose head is the Governor of Virginia, the CVC Staff and a dedicated, secure third-party processing center. This page in conjunction with the CVC website (www.cvcgives.org) and Twitter page are provided as a resource for charities, state employees, campaign volunteers, and people who want to be more involved in their communities. Please take a moment to travel to the CVC website to learn more about how charities are accepted into the program and how employees and individuals can and are giving back to their communities. A full directory of current charities can be found here and are updated in the summer once each year's charities' applications are approved: www.cvcgives.org.
