We’re honored to be listed as a top resource for our community when experiencing trauma, loss, and grief. For all of those affected by any of the recent fires, know that you’re in our thoughts and prayers! 🙏 Our hearts deeply ache for what our community has endured.

We’re here for our community. We’re also blessed that we had the Lawrence J Weiss Hospice Guest House available. We were able to evacuate individuals and families at the end of life. One family desperately needed a safe place with the proper care. We’re so honored that we were able to provide that for those precious individuals. To learn more, please visit:

At the Circle of Life Hospice Foundation, we feel privileged to provide care for those in crisis, grief, and who are in need at end of life. These special projects rely on your generosity and with all of us working together as a community.

A message and photo shared by Chaplain Chaz Blackburn, Assistant Corps Commander, Great Basin Chaplain Corps: "📣 Important announcement for displaced Families navigating disabilities!!!

🚨All hotels are booked currently according to sources. Many people who slept in their vehicles, will now be seeking shelter as areas are not reopening yet.

‼️All Friends and Family, please share this information out immediately!

🚨We have secured a location in the North Sierra Nevada for Families Navigating Disabilities who were located at the Reno/Sparks Convention Center, especially with asthma issues. The location is a private Lodge that is providing a safe space for free surrounded by clean and crisp air. God bless them for their generosity! This will be a safe space for those who are sensitive to sensory stimulation who are having a difficult time at the shelter due to large crowds, loud noises, and flashing lights. These families have been identified and evacuation in progress. Vacancy may be at capacity. If in need, please private message me.

‼️Additionally, for any other Families navigating disabilities who are displaced, the Bridge Church in Reno is opening at 11:00 AM. Families navigating disabilities are welcome to sleep there but please advise we have no beds or beddings at this time. There will be private rooms for the Families navigating disabilities to get away from the commotion. Pizza will be provided including resources from other organizations like Project Bear Hugs! Thank you Tiffanie Story for helping put this together for this special demographic that has increased fears and challenges!

💪We’ll be working with our partners at American Red Cross of Nevada, COADs, VOAD, and Nevada Office of Emergency Management / Homeland Security to have a specific plan ready for future community disasters, to avoid these specific Families navigating disabilities, from the extra suffering they may experience due to their complex needs.

🙏 Great Basin Chaplain Corps will be deploying to this location to provide support during this crisis.

🌅 We have an incredible community and will get through this together. Stay strong, kind, and vigilant!"
