Recent BLTS Trail Days.
Sunday we had 15 folks out from the McQueen Knight Rides NICA Team doing maintenance on the western section of the Belli Sierra Front trail. Did a mile on the trail and 3/4 mile on the two track road with major brush clearing and improving super rocky sections, etc. Monday we had 22 folks with the Skiing is Believing Fall Camp. We did basic maintenance on the Drop Zone, Upper Climbing Trail and the Intermediate Jump Trail. It's great introducing our local youth to fun trail maintenance. We're hoping the USFS lifts the closure on Peavine soon and we'll have multiple Trail Days on the Hawk Fire affected trails

BLTS Quarterly Meeting - 11/4/26 - Now at 10Torr!

Had a great Army of 12 energetic volunteers today to do trail maintenance on the Sierra Vista Connector Trail. We had folks from Z-Line Kitchens, Patagonia and other volunteers all supervised by Jack T Trail Dog. We did brushing with the gas powered brush saw, rock removal and drain enhancements. Got about half of the trail done. It was a bit windy with some great Sierra Wave clouds and the temperature was perfect for a trail day. Fall is here so there will be lots more trail days coming soon. Big thanks to Z-Line Kitchens and Patagonia in supporting there employees giving back to the community.

SVP Tune Up Day!

With Peavine still under a formal closure, the BLTS has set sights on some much needed repair and maintenance at Sierra Vista Bike Park. Today, the big right is and corner after the jumps on the intermediate flow trail was reworked to give users additional support and ability to practice gaining speed through corners. The trail is open and ready for tracks!

Trails don't get built for free. The BLTS is a 100% volunteer-led organization, but operating machinery does come with a cost. If you're enjoying what we're up to, consider donating at the link in bio or via our website, renotrails.org.

Trail Day has been changed due to weather prediction
This will be a Trail Day with K-Line Kitchens employees, doing trail maintenance on the Sierra Vista Connector Trail from the park to hopefully Las Brisas Blvd. We'll be doing brushing and pre-winter maintenance. This Trail Day was going to be on Peavine but the Hawk Fire changed that plan. Should be a fun fast moving Trail Day.

When: Change to Friday, September 25
Time 0800-1200
Where: Sierra Vista Park Lower Parking Lot

Please RSVP with Curtis at 775 232-8483. Please dress in long pants and long shirts, wear sturdy shoes, work gloves, bike helmet, eye protection. Bring water, snack and a smile.

Our community has been affected by the Hawk and other fires over the last few weeks. We thought it would only be right to create a benefit shirt to help those who have been affected.

Shirts are live on the site! All proceeds will go to the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada and all donation dollars stay local. There is a current donor matching dollar for dollar donated, so we can make twice the impact we donate.

Considering buying a shirt to benefit those in need. In trying times, our community is strong. Our trails will be rebuilt; some things aren't that simple.

The BLTS has been sent many photos such as this with varying levels of concern from our community regarding trails, machine use, etc.

We appreciate the love, and want everyone to know that whatever happens to the trails will be assessed at some point, and we will work with our land management to repair and rehab what's necessary. Right now though, we would like to direct attention to our community throughout the north edges of town and remind everyone that there are many people who are in need of shelter, rest, food, and normalcy while containment is gained. Be sure to check on your loved ones and extend a helping hand where possible.

We advocate for all trail users, as meaningful and helpful as riding or hiking may be to settle the mind, to seek use elsewhere while fire crews, emergency services, and the Forest Service continue ongoing work on Peavine. The sooner the damage and formalized repair takes place, the sooner the area will be available for use and enjoyment once again.

We look forward to a fall full of effort together and welcome any and all help available. Keep up on our page for updates as we gain additional information.

Had an Army of three dogs and nine hardy folks today with five from Renown Trauma ICU to do some needed trail maintenance on the Peavine Trail Network. We did basic maintenance on the bottom section of Total Recall and the Keystone UNR DH Connector. We beat the heat by starting early and stopping early. The dogs mainly had fun dog wrestling and Jack T Trail dog did not do much supervising of the trail work today. Thanks much to Renown for supporting it's employee's doing community service work of maintaining our local trails. Happy Trails. 😃
