60 years ago, the first plane went up in the Nevada desert to kick off what would become the National Championship Air Races and a legacy was born. In the time since, it has imbued a true legacy of aviation history, heritage and preservation, an incredible annual display of daring, imagination and wonder, leaving breathless fans a wealth of memories made, traditions formed and legends created one

amazing race at a time. Eight planes racing wing-tip to wing-tip, 50 feet above the ground at speeds up to more than 500 mph. This is the fastest motorsport on Earth – a one-of-a-kind thrill you have to see, hear and feel to believe. This is classic, cool and contemporary all rolled into one. This is life at 500 miles per hour. This is the National Championship Air Races.

Planning your race week transportation? 🚌✈️

Shuttle service information is now available for NCAR fans, including free Roswell Transit options and Artesia-to-Roswell shuttle service.

Roswell Transit will offer pickup options from local hotels, motels, and Airbnbs, plus dedicated shuttles to the race venue. Artesia shuttle tickets and route details are available through Eventbrite.

The STEM Discovery Zone is getting even stronger this year. 🔬

We’re excited to welcome the Women in Aviation International — Land of Enchantment Chapter to the 2026 National Championship Air Races and Air Show. They’ll be joining us in the STEM Discovery Zone on Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18.

With WAI joining us during two of those high-attendance days, students will have the opportunity to connect with an organization dedicated to introducing girls and women to aviation and aerospace careers.

Race week is about more than what happens in the sky. It’s also about inspiring the next generation of pilots, engineers, innovators, and aviation fans.

Military appreciation is part of race week in Roswell. 🇺🇸

Current and former military can use code MIL15 for 15% off eligible race week purchases, including general admission tickets, Pit Passes, and more (ID will be required at entry).

On Friday, current and former military are invited to attend for free by showing military ID at the gate.

📌 A few important notes: Friday’s free admission does not include Pit Passes, and the MIL15 discount does not apply to premium experiences.
