Rinky Dinky & Juniper have been the best of buds here since Rinkys arrival. We were able to give them the front pasture to themselves yesterday and they are so happy! Both Rinky and Juniper are seniors with unfortunate pasts and therefore require more maintenance so it really works out that they are happy together and can live out their days together in the pasture.

We’ve had quite a few new followers recently, so we wanted to share a little bit about who we are and what we do

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers an owner surrender program along with training and educational opportunities to the public at a reduced cost. Our owner surrender program allows horse owners to contact us and surrender their horse in any condition without costly surrender fees, helping provide a safe option during various difficult situations.

Although we have officially been a nonprofit for the past 3 years, Josie has a background in training horse for the public before we started the nonprofit. We specialized in c**t starting, mustangs, and horses with severe behavioral issues.

We transitioned into becoming a nonprofit after seeing the lack of resources available for horses and their owners in difficult situations, especially horses that may require more time, patience, and rehabilitation than the average horse.

Our goal is to give horses a second chance while also supporting and educating the community along the way.

We’re glad you’re here and hope you’ll follow along for our horse journeys, transformations, and the work we get to do every day. So here’s some pictures of our day to day life and the faces that you may see on here 😁

We’re also currently running a raffle from now until June 15th! It’s a great way to support our work, with all proceeds going directly back into the care, training, and rehabilitation of the horses — and you’ll also be entered to win a fun prize.

 ⭐️ Fundraising Raffle ⭐️

We’re excited to have another raffle featuring a beautiful 12 x 18 inch metal print of sweet Fern! This metal print is super rich in color! The original order picture does not do it justice.

The raffle will run from May 4th through June 15th.

🎟️ 1 ticket – $25
🎟️ 4 tickets – $80

We’re currently fundraising to help cover recent vet and farrier expenses. On the 24th alone, we spent approximately $1,700 on routine spring vaccines, dental care, and Rinky’s sedated trim. We also spent an additional $550 to provide vaccines and dental care for a horse in foster. This past Saturday, the farrier was out again—another necessary (and pricey) visit to keep everyone healthy and comfortable.

If you’d like to support the horses and enter the raffle, you can donate through:👇

A little sneak peak into Annie’s first ride, of course we were out of frame most the time😅

I still continue start horses ba****ck even on those like Annie who don’t really “ NEED” it. As I feel I can give the horse a more well rounded, balanced, and thorough, start this way.

Sassy & Smart this 11 yo mare is gearing up for her first ride to be started under saddle. Hopefully we have more to share soon!

We’ve been extra busy lately both in and outside of the nonprofit, and of course the horses and day to day work always comes first, so here’s a much overdue update 💛

This week all of the horses were trimmed by the farrier, and last Friday we had a big vet day. Everyone received routine spring vaccines, checkups, and dental floats where needed.

Rinky Dinky had a big day seeing the vet — due to his overgrown feet, he needed to be fully sedated to finally get his hind feet trimmed ( the x-rays did show more noticeable rotation of the coffin bone rather then the front feet) . Our farrier was able to get a lot done while he was under sedation! We are so thankful to Bryan as he also donated his time and expertise once again to Rinky💕

Since last Friday Rinky has been moving much better. While he still has his bowed leg and won’t ever be 100% sound, he’s comfortable, enjoying his day-to-day life, and has even shown some playful moments, including a little trotting. We of course are constantly monitoring him and are always considering what is best for him.

We are super thankful to our knowledgeable and handy vets & farrier who are always giving the best care to our horses. 💕

Outside of the vet appointment Annie has also been starting to go under saddle and is progressing nicely!

Stay tuned for the raffle!

We’ll have a fundraiser post up shortly with a raffle opportunity — thank you all for your continued support 💛

Look at Mabel and her new family go, we are so proud of Mary navigating first time horse ownership with a green horse! It’s not always easy but with the right mindset it can be very possible and successful 💕

A little update on Mr. Rinky Dinky! 🫶

Thankfully we have been able to continue to work on his front feet with the help of some sedation~ Remember Rinky was surrendered to us at 25 unhalded. The only thing he was okay with was being brushed on his back and butt.

Howver he has come a good stretch with tolerating us and allowing us to get a halter on him to sedate him for his front trims. 💕

On the 24th we will be fully sedating Rinky with our vet to get his hind feet trimmed, as well as get a closer look at some of the concerns we have with his feet.

A huge thank you to Bryan Smith for donating his skill set & time to help Rinky Dinky! This has been a huge help to us 💕

Getting his feet back to somewhat normal is and will be a long process… unfortunately we suspect he has been like this for a long time due to the deformities through out his hoof and leg. We hope to have some more answers on the 24th but of course quality of life and comfort will always come first.
