We offer a practical spiritual teaching that draws on the wisdom of the ages and New Thought principles, in order to promote awakening and personal growth. With a variety of services available, Center for Spiritual Living, Reno meets the needs of families, singles, children, adults, and seniors. What would it mean to call upon the better angels of our nature?

As the United States stood on the brink of the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln appealed to the “better angels of our nature.”

Reverend Dr. Liesa Garcia reminds us that this invitation is not simply about politics. It is about character. It is about choosing the highest expression of who we are—especially when disagreement, fear, or uncertainty tempt us to operate from something smaller.

As students of the Science of Mind and Spirit, we can call upon what we know to be true about God: love, truth, beauty, peace and freedom.

We can bring those qualities into our conversations, our relationships and the decisions we make each day. Sometimes that requires asking:
"Can I release my need to be right and allow a higher purpose to unfold?"

Stepping into that higher place may feel unfamiliar. It may not produce the outcome we originally imagined. But what unfolds may be something even better.
