Tehama County are you currently experiencing a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)? When there’s a risk of a wildfire, utility companies may need to turn off power as a last resort to ensure public safety.

Call 211 or text "PSPS" to 211-211 for connections to PSPS resources, including transportation, lodging, and food resource replacement, or get screened for direct assistance.

. As temperatures begin to rise across Tehama County, we encourage residents to prepare for potentially dangerous heat conditions and know where to go to stay cool.

The attached flyer contains locations that may be used as cooling centers for individuals needing relief from extreme heat. If a heat emergency occurs, additional cooling center locations may be opened and/or operating hours may be extended at existing sites.

A local heat emergency may exist in Tehama County when temperatures reach 106°F or higher for two consecutive days and overnight temperatures do not fall below 80°F.

Extreme heat can quickly become dangerous, especially for older adults, young children, individuals with medical conditions, outdoor workers, and those without access to air conditioning. Remember to:
• Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
• Limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.
• Check on family members, neighbors, and vulnerable individuals.
• Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.

Please stay informed, take precautions, and share this information with others who may need assistance. We will continue to provide updates should conditions warrant the activation of additional cooling resources.

⚠️ Tehama County residents: A potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) may affect parts of the county on June 10 and 11.
A PSPS is a planned power outage that PG&E may use during periods of high fire danger to help reduce the risk of wildfires.
Now is the time to prepare:
- Charge phones and devices
- Gather emergency supplies
- Plan ahead for medications that require refrigeration
- Prepare for medical equipment that relies on electricity
