It is FIVE FOR FRIDAY time!

13/10/2026

YOU are invited to this important townhall on Thursday evening. Join Shasta Strengthening Families and others community leaders to discuss Positive Childhood Experiences. Let's all come together to help children in our county.

Join local leaders, residents, families, and organizations for an inspiring evening centered on the science of hope, connection, and belonging. Together, we'll explore how Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) strengthen individuals, families, and communities—and discover practical ways we can move from awareness to action.
Whether you're a parent, educator, healthcare provider, community leader, or simply someone who cares about the future of Shasta County, your voice and participation matter. Let's build a community where every child—and every family—has the opportunity to thrive! Register at https://bit.ly/StrengtheningFamiliesOct2026 and invite a friend!

Today at 2:30pm is a great opportunity for you to join the incredible program. You becoming a volunteer to spend a few hours of individual time a week with a student holds the ability to change their life. No promises...but it probably will have a profound impact on you as well!

Imagine the joy of helping a child discover a love for reading! ❤️ Reading Pals is looking for dedicated volunteers to provide 1-on-1 reading support to students in Shasta County. Just 1-2 hours a week can build confidence and foundational skills that last a lifetime. Students involved in the program are growing by leaps and bounds, and the adults are having fun, too! You don't need prior experience – just a willingness to connect. Our first orientation of the year is Monday, Sept. 14. See the flyer for details.
