We wanted to share this moment of worship from KidzJam this week. πŸ™Œ

Every Family Night, children who come with their families gather for KidzJam - a time for a hot meal, games, Bible lessons, and worship.

Roughly 1 in 6 children in North Carolina live in food-insecure households. It is our joy to minister to both their physical and spiritual needs - and to worship God together!

Thank you to Calvary Chapel Clayton and The Barnabas Movement for volunteering.

God is so good! Last night's Street Outreach & Family Night was the body of Christ in action β€” coming together to serve our city. We were inspired by the young volunteers who showed up to share the love and hope of Jesus.

Thank you to Calvary Chapel Clayton and The Barnabas Movement, to Elevation Church - Raleigh for the food and awesome worship, and to Antioch Apex for preaching the Word of God powerfully! And to the faithful volunteers from churches across the Triangle who show up week after week to love our neighbors β€” thank you.

We witnessed powerful prayers, listening ears, grateful hearts, words of encouragement, joyful singing, and genuine community.

Acts 2:44 β€” "All the believers were together and had everything in common."

Next time a cashier asks if you'd like to round up for their charity, you can smile and say: "No thanks β€” I'm already rounding up for mine."

We've just joined RoundUp.org β€” a giving platform partnered with Visa and Mastercard β€” so your everyday purchases can now support Raleigh Dream Center.

Here's how it works: link your Visa or Mastercard, and every purchase rounds up to the nearest dollar. That spare change comes straight to RDC to fuel food distribution, recovery, and Gospel-centered outreach across the Triangle.

It adds up faster than you'd think. The average donor gives about $30 a month from round-ups alone β€” that's $30,000+ a year for every 100 supporters who sign up.

Connecting your card takes less than a minute. πŸ‘‡ πŸ”—

Beyond the numbers are real people β€” our neighbors. πŸ’™

On a single freezing January night this year, during a White Flag alert when extra shelters were open, 1,050 people in Wake County still had nowhere stable to call home. 307 slept outside.

And over the course of a year, that number grows into the thousands β€” including nearly 6,000 students in our public schools who lacked stable housing last year. Together, these numbers point to a much larger, often unseen reality in our community.

Some homelessness is situational β€” one crisis away from losing housing. Some is chronic β€” a long, repeated cycle that is difficult to break alone. Both require a response. Both require a community.

We believe the deepest need is not only a roof over someone’s head. Every person is created in God’s image and made for relationship with Him. The struggles we see on our streets are one expression of a brokenness we all share β€” and lasting transformation begins with the hope of the Gospel.

The need is bigger than any one organization can meet β€” but we serve a God who changes lives, communities, and cities.

We came across this photo of the very first Family Night back in 2021. πŸ’™

Family Night started small.

It was born out of faithful believers coming together in prayer with a simple motto: find a need and fill a need.

Some volunteers cooked meals. Others went out into the streets of Raleigh, offering care, prayer, and an invitation to individuals experiencing homelessness: "Come and see."

In those early days, Family Night was just a small group sharing a meal and studying the Bible together.

But our God is a God who multiplies!

Since then, He has brought new people through our doors every Tuesday. Some weeks, more than 200 people gather for a hot meal, community, worship, and Bible study. Many of the volunteers who were there in the beginning are still faithfully serving week after week.

"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed... though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches." - Matthew 13:31–32

We share this photo as a reminder that God is faithful. Trust Him with small beginnings.

And we'd love to invite you to come and see.

Family Night happens every Tuesday. Whether you'd like to join us for a meal, worship with us, study the Bible, or serve alongside our volunteers, you are welcome here.

Most of all, we want you to know Jesus.

Summer is around the corner, and we need volunteers like you.

When you serve, you're not only making an impact in someone else's life - you'll be changed in the process too.

Here's where we especially need help this summer:

🧑 KidzJam β€” Tuesday Family Nights. Many of our faithful KidzJam volunteers are college students who head home for the summer. Help us make sure the kids we serve stay supported through this consistent program.

🚚 Volunteer drivers β€” weekday availability. We need help delivering food to our outreach sites. No CDL required β€” just a willingness to show up and serve.

πŸ‘₯ Groups β€” week of July 27–31. We're gearing up for our Back2School Bash and need all hands on deck. If your church, small group, youth group, or workplace is looking for a hands-on way to serve this summer, this is your week. Save the date for our Back2School Bash on Saturday, August 1. Stay tuned for volunteer sign-ups coming soon!

We just updated our volunteer page to make it easier than ever to see what's available and sign up. Whether you want to serve at a food distribution, help at the warehouse, join an Adopt-A-Block team, or plug in to Family Night β€” there's a place for you.

Wow, last night was pure JOY!

We are praising God for this incredible milestone β€” Jonathon, Kelton (KD), and Jason have successfully completed the Dream Center Discipleship recovery program. These three men are walking in freedom through Jesus Christ. We are so proud of you.

Thank you to everyone who prayed faithfully for these graduates. Your prayers are still needed! Thank you to the volunteers who poured into their lives behind the scenes in so many ways. This kind of transformation takes a community coming together.

Jesus is alive. Praise the Lord!

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." β€” Jesus in Luke 4:18–19
