Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh

Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh Building safe, affordable homes and communities in partnership with families, donors and volunteers in Wake, Johnston and Franklin counties.

Qualified homebuyers partner with Habitat Wake to buy safe, affordable homes. Homebuyers take homeowner education classes and complete 200 'sweat equity' hours building their home and the homes of their neighbors. Upon completion of construction, partner families pay an affordable mortgage. Our model is made possible by sponsors, individual donors, volunteers, and ReStore shoppers.

BREAKING: The U.S. Senate has just passed the 21st Century Road to Housing Act (ROAD) — a historic, bipartisan package to expand housing affordability. The bill now moves to the House, which could vote as early as this week. It is critical that we encourage Congress to get this historic bill over the finish line as soon as possible! It was great having John Deere on the build site last week! Every volunteer day brings us one step closer to welcoming families home, and we're grateful for organizations who invest their time and energy to make that possible.

Thank you to Publix for your continued support of our home preservation work! 🏠 Over the past year, our home preservation team has completed 100 projects, and the generous support of partners like Publix Super Markets Charities allows us to help homeowners with repairs and modifications to ensure they can continue living safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Home preservation is an essential part of creating and protecting affordable housing. By helping families remain in the homes they already own, we're strengthening neighborhoods, preserving community connections and ensuring more homeowners can remain in place. It's feeling like 2006 in Raleigh as the Carolina Hurricanes celebrate their first Stanley Cup win in 20 years!

Habitat Greater Raleigh had its turn with the Cup in December of 2006. As part of an NHL and Habitat for Humanity International collaboration, House In A Box, East Coast NHL teams built walls to help with Hurricane Katrina rebuild efforts at the then RBC Center.

Carolina Hurricanes, we think a build day is a great way to connect with your coworkers outside of the 'office' and to welcome the new guy, Lord Stanley, to the team 😉

The Home Builders Blitz may be over, but the impact is just beginning in Garner. We'd like to extend a huge thank you to the Town of Garner, NC Government for helping make this year's Home Builders Blitz a success. From planning and permitting to inspections, their team worked alongside us every step of the way to help keep construction moving.

The Blitz marked the launch of Hope Grove, Habitat Greater Raleigh's largest neighborhood development since its founding in 1985. Located along Creech Road, this 150-acre mixed-income community will bring 400 new units to Garner and feature greenways, walking trails, recreation spaces and housing options designed to accommodate a variety of family sizes, incomes and lifestyles.

Together, we're building homes, communities and hope! Thank you to the Town of Garner for being such an important partner in making this vision a reality.
