Cam's Rescue & Transport

Cam's Rescue & Transport We volunteer to give rescue dogs (and sometimes cats!) rides to safety. We really SOLELY on donations, so THANK YOU! We are NOT a paid transport company.

We ONLY transport animals that are sponsored by 501(c)(3), reputation backed, rescue organizations. From what started as a little volunteering in my free time has now begun to blossom into a full-blown legacy project, dedicated to my late best beagle friend, Cam. 🐶🐾❤️

Cam's Rescue & Transport has been born! Thank you to everyone who has had a hand in making this possible!🤗 The goal of this 501(c)

(3) nonprofit is to help better assist the transportation of dogs in need of rescue;🚗 providing and/or supplementing the costs of crates, leashes, collars, car seat covers, hammocks, tethers, gas, etc. to those great people 🧑and rescue organizations that volunteer so much of their time helping these pups -- and most importantly, getting them out of less than ideal situations. 🙏

Eventually, I'd like to work with alongside other rescues 🤝 to better centralize and modernize the volunteer network of transports 🖧🚗to be more efficient and effective getting dogs from shelters to fosters 🐾, and from fosters to adopters 🏡 along to east coast -- but baby steps! Please visit my Instagram Page to see all the dogs I've transported over the years! 📸 https://www.instagram.com/camsrescue/

If you'd like to donate a "cup of coffee", which really is more like a "gallon of gas" ⛽ , please check out: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/camsrescue

100% of anything donated will go to dog rescue effort expenses, and everyone is a volunteer, of course -- I won't be quitting my job anytime soon!😝

Thank you!😀

Meet Lucy — our sweet little foster girl with the gentlest soul 🩷🐾

Lucy is a wire-haired terrier mix estimated to be around 8 years old and weighs about 18 pounds, with adorable long legs and a dainty, lady-like personality that melts everyone she meets ✨ She was found as a stray in Union County, but it’s obvious this girl knew love at some point in her life. She has absolutely no fear of people and simply wants to be close to her person ❤️

Lucy has been with us in foster care for about 7 weeks, and she is now ready to find her forever home! 🏡🐶

She is the definition of an easy companion. Her energy level is medium-low — she still gets excited to trot around the yard, sniff through the grass, and happily explore outside 🌿☀️ but she’s not hyper or barky. Most of all, she just wants to quietly follow you from room to room and relax nearby 🥰

She has wonderful house manners and appears fully house trained! In fact, shelter staff said Lucy would wait patiently to go outside rather than use the bathroom in her kennel. She listens beautifully, has excellent recall, and truly aims to please. Lucy is such a polite little lady that she won’t even jump onto the bed unless invited 🥹💕

Lucy does wonderfully with people, small dogs, and cats 🐕🐈 Because of her gentle temperament and delicate size, we think she would do best in a calmer home without large dogs or young children.

She enjoys car rides, loves mealtime, and is happiest curled up near her favorite human 🚗🍽️ At night, she sleeps peacefully in her dog bed beside yours. When invited up for cuddles, she’s more than happy to snuggle close 🤍

Lucy is beginning to develop some cataracts and has a few growths on her leg and back that appear benign, but none of that slows down her sweet spirit one bit ✨

If you’re looking for a calm, loyal best friend who will adore you with her whole heart, Lucy may be your perfect match 🐶💖 She’s not demanding, loud, or wild — just a loving little companion searching for the forever person she can devote herself to.

New Patient Alert 🔔 🚨 ‼️

This young eaglet, yes - a nestling - was admitted to our clinic after falling from the nest. The cause? Lead toxicity. Even eagles this small can be poisoned by the food their parents bring them.
Lead ammunition must be addressed—it’s poisoning our native wildlife. When vultures or eagles come to our clinic, 70–80% test positive for lead. Of those, 90% have levels high enough to be life-threatening and require treatment.

There are safer alternatives to lead, yet the problem persists. Lead affects not just eagles and vultures, but also raccoons, opossums, red-tailed hawks, waterfowl, and many other species. And if you hunt with lead and bring your catch home, it could be entering your family’s food chain too.

If you hunt or fish, please switch to non-lead options. Many of these cases appear linked to deer shot with lead ammunition, as we see spikes in lead poisoning cases during deer season.

Until you’ve held a dying vulture or eagle gasping for air, having seizures, or succumbing entirely to lead poisoning, it’s easy to scroll past. But ethical hunters can make a difference by choosing non-lead ammunition. Most people don’t realize how widespread this problem is or how many wild animals it impacts every year.

This little eaglet is fighting for his life. Thankfully, he’s showing some signs of improvement, but he still has a long road ahead.

Missy!! This ol' girl was stuck in a Texas shelter needing some medical care, dental work, and most of all some love. With the help of Misfit Hounds, her temp foster and , we got her to safety on Sunday! 🚗
This was our longest transport to date! 1,200 miles one way! And I was so happy to do it! Missy was an excellent passenger. In typical hound fashion, a bit of an odd bird 😆 ... She wanted to drive, of course. We made several stops along the way to make sure she was comfortable. She wanted to be as close to me as possible on walks and in the car. She's going to be a great companion to her new friends at Misfit Hounds in Tennessee 🥰

This is Julia, a 12-week-old beagle — and she is safe and sound with her foster family! ❤️
Yesterday was a stark reminder of how quickly things can go wrong for rescue transporters. No matter how careful we are, it only takes one second. Julia slipped away at a transport meet location with no collar, no leash — nothing — and ran into a large, wooded area with heavy brush. To make matters worse, the nearby highway noise made it impossible to hear her movements.
After a few tense hours, with the help of multiple volunteers from the receiving rescue, the shelter, and others, we found Julia and successfully brought her to safety. It truly felt like a miracle.
I am beyond thankful she was found relatively quickly, but I still had nightmares last night thinking about how much worse this could have been. I’m incredibly grateful for the strong network of rescuers who stepped up in such a chaotic and potentially dire situation.
This was a powerful reminder to never let our guard down — being overly cautious is always better.
Julia, I won’t forget you anytime soon! 😂😵‍💫
