ICYMI: Governor Josh Stein wrote an op-ed focused on Medicaid cuts which was published in The News & Observer this past weekend. He warns that every North Carolinian, covered by Medicaid or not, will bear the costs of people losing coverage, and he urges the federal government to reverse course and protect health care for North Carolina families.

The Arc of North Carolina Statement on Transition to Community Living

Governor Josh Stein announced that the State of North Carolina and the U.S. Department of Justice have filed a joint motion to end federal oversight of the Transition to Community Living (TCL) settlement agreement.

While we are disappointed to see federal oversight end, our commitment to community living remains strong.

North Carolina has made important progress helping people with disabilities live more independently in their communities. That progress must continue.

The Arc of North Carolina will continue advocating for funding, services, and supports that give people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to live and thrive in their communities.

Federal oversight may be ending, but our work is not.
