Ok, so most of us orchid growers are suckers for variegated/mottled leaves. Look at this stunning Phalaenopsis schilleriana at the Asheville Orchid Show grown by our TOS member, Ralph.

Phalaenopsis schilleriana is a stunning species from the island of Luzon in the Philippines. This species is known for its hyper floriferousness with it not being uncommon to see anywhere from 25-50 flowers per inflorescence on adult plants. These plants are also famous for their beautiful foliage which has dark green leaves mottled with silver along with a reddish underside.

Ok, this beauty knocked us off our feet! Seidenfadenia mitrata alba grown by our TOS member Annie!

Grow Seidenfadenia mounted on slabs without any moisutre retaining material at the roots. Provide bright light levels. Water regularly and provide intermediate to warm temperatures during the growing season. When the plants are not in active growth reduce watering to maintenance levels and provide intermediate to cool-intermediate temperatures. Plants of Seidenfadenia are adapted to a strongly monsoonal climate and often decline in cultivation when kept too warm and(or) overwatered during dormant periods.

Another beautiful exhibit at the Fall for Orchids Show.
