The Lumber River Senior Games wrapped up in true groovy fashion. NCSG Board Chair Tracy Honeycutt and NCSG staff member Rita Roy were in attendance for the celebration and fun!

NCSG Board Member, Heather Burkhardt, and our own NCSG staff member Morgan Thompson, were honored to celebrate alongside Wake County Senior Games as they closed out with a bang, marking record-breaking numbers and becoming the largest Local Games in 2026 with 712 participants! 🎉

May is Older Americans Month, and North Carolina Senior Games is proud to celebrate this year’s theme: “Champion Your Health!”

On May 21, NCSG staff and several NCSG Board Members were honored to be represented at the Governor’s Mansion as we celebrated older adults across North Carolina and the many ways they continue to inspire through active, healthy living.

This month and every day we celebrate the diverse aging experiences of older adults throughout our state and recognize the impact they make in their communities.

A special thank you to Elaine Yontz and Jack Fisher, SilverArtists from Greenville-Pitt County Senior Games, who represented North Carolina Senior Games through their incredible instrumental musical talents!
