We are so grateful to Beech Bluff County Park for providing a plot to Community Workforce Solutions to strengthen our partnership!

This generous support allows us to continue our meaningful collaboration.

Throughout the school year, our students have been interning at the park—maintaining planter boxes, running the compost program, and completing so many other important jobs that keep the park beautiful and thriving.

🍑 We love days of community exploration and connection!

Our Pathways participants enjoyed a sweet visit to Peach Day at the local farmer’s market — soaking up the sunshine, exploring the vendors, and of course celebrating all things peach!

Meanwhile, our Bridge program had an unforgettable experience touring the NC Executive Mansion. The highlight of the day? Getting to meet North Carolina’s Governor, Josh Stein!

We’re so proud of our participants for stepping into new spaces, building confidence, and making meaningful community connections. These are the moments that truly show what inclusion and opportunity look like in action.

🌟 Gateway Clubhouse Open House & Mask Unveiling Recap! 🌟

Last week we had the joy of welcoming friends, family, supporters, and community members to our Open House at Gateway Clubhouse! It was a wonderful morning filled with tours, conversations, and a powerful celebration of recovery, creativity, and community.

One of the highlights was the Unveiling of the Masks — a beautiful project created by our Clubhouse members.
Members to design and decorate personalized masks. Each mask represents an individual’s journey with brain injury recovery: some symbolize the “masks” we wear when facing challenges, others reflect hidden strengths, emotions, hopes, and the courage to show their true selves. Through painting, words, symbols, and personal storytelling, these masks become powerful tools for self-expression, healing, and building confidence. Seeing them all displayed together was truly moving.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, to our dedicated staff and volunteers, and especially to our amazing members for sharing your creativity and stories so openly.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth — a day of freedom, resilience, and reflection.
On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their emancipation — more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This important milestone reminds us that freedom, justice, and opportunity must reach everyone, everywhere.

At Community Workforce Solutions, we honor this history by continuing our commitment to equity and inclusion every day. We believe true freedom includes the opportunity for meaningful work, community connection, and the dignity that comes with being fully seen and supported — especially for individuals with disabilities from all backgrounds.
